We have an opportunity for an Emerging Cloud Technologies, Expert supporting one of our government customers Remotely.

LOCATION: Remote.
Customs and Border Protection is Building secure, resilient, and scalable solutions while enhancing service delivery are critical requirements for CBP to modernize and transform how we effectively and efficiently carry out the mission. Therefore, it is vital to prioritize and pursue solutions which enable: Building consistent, standard, reliable and portable environments in the cloud, defining container strategies, managing data, supporting 24/7/365 operations, maintaining high reliability and availability, maintaining an adequate cybersecurity posture, integrated tagging, tracking and reporting across multi-cloud and hybrid operational models This program will deliver engineering services for network infrastructure as well as sophisticated enterprise computing infrastructure including end-point devices, data center hosted servers, multi-Cloud services as well as virtualized applications, and storage systems. Enterprise Computing Engineering services include modern application technology including containerized solutions with orchestrated workflow that function both on customer premises, and via remote Cloud services. Network infrastructure engineering services are comprised of core infrastructure, voice and video engineering, field engineering, application management and development for networks, network analytics, firewalls, network access controls and bandwidth service delivery. The team will work closely with other teams (e.g., ECIS Scrum Teams, CBP OIT SOC, Application/Service Teams etc.) to integrate security measures (e.g., IAM) seamlessly into cloud operations, reducing risk and enhancing the overall security posture across all the cloud environments utilized by CBP.
Position Description:
- Serve as technical expert on emerging communication technologies, initiatives, and related communication programs. Give strategic input to the agency 5-year plan
- Gather research from primary and secondary sources, critically analyze the information, and write up key findings and best practices in a way that’s easy for audiences of varying technical skills to understand and
- direct the successful integration of a variety of systems, platforms, and architectures.
- Drive the implementation of development best practices throughout the organization, while governing control and ensuring objectives are achieved.
- Manage risk, resource allocation, project prioritization, and research and recommend new systems, software products and services and Ensure business continuity.
Position Requirements:
- Strong technical background with expertise in infrastructure, virtualization, network architecture, software development, cloud development, mobile development, highly scalable architecture, cybersecurity, and agile development methodology.
- Demonstrated ability to manage risk, resource allocation, project prioritization, and research and recommend new systems, software products and services and Ensure business continuity.
Educational Requirements/ Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration.
- 15 years of experience in the information technology applications field or Cybersecurity
- 5 years of experience managing staff
- Experience delivering information technology related projects
- Certified in Emerging Technology™ (CET)
- Blockchain Fundamentals Certificate
Possess one of the following certifications:
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
