Responsibilities
- Network Design, Planning and Implementation
- Assist with technical evaluations within subject domain as requested.
- Develop and suggest SBIR/STTR topics that are relevant to project's mission.
- Provide subject matter expertise assistance in the development of test plans for evaluation exercises.
- Design networks and subnetworks for sites and provide recommendations on existing network design.
- Assist and advise the Government in developing overall objectives and strategy for service provision to selected sites.
- Develop a Network Implementation Plan to include installation and testing for the networks, insuring hardware and software compatibility to the terminal device level.
- Perform network and related installations and ensure that the implementations follow the plan. Coordinate testing.
- Support in Field Evaluations and Exercises
- Provide subject matter expertise support during test, evaluation, training exercises and warfighter assessments.
- Provide evaluation of technologies, lessons learned and recommendations to improve the network and communication research technology.
- Assist in the integration of the telemedicine systems onto the network and evaluate the telemedicine prototypes performance for various communications modalities.
- Integrate and configure 3rd party hardware and software into telemedicine network, ensuring operational readiness.
- Assist in the preparation of classified reports and documents up to the security level of Secret.
- Provide technical support to field evaluations.
- Provide Telecommunication support services including the following listed duties, in addition to any other duties reasonably associated with the performance of the listed duties:
- Assist in the design of wide area or local area communications networks and subnetworks for telemedicine sites. The networks may include a mixture of various wired (analog or digital) and wireless (microwave, radio, satellite) modalities.
- Develop written recommendations on the most effective and efficient connectivity solutions.
- Assist in the acquisition planning and implementation of equipment required by network designs.
- Manage and maintain network and computer communications equipment for DoD data and voice systems. Ensure installed equipment is maintained and calibrated.
Qualifications
- REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS: A current Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level I (A+, Network +, or SSCP) and Computer Environment (CE) Certifications.
- U.S. Citizenship required; must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
- Bachelor's Degree with 5 years experience or Master's degree with 3 years experience or HS Diploma/equivalent and 9 years experience
- Must have experience in supporting large data center environments
- Must have experience in WAN/LAN troubleshooting and configuration
- Must have the ability to learn new networking concepts and tools
- Must have experience with VPN and network protocols such as BGP and OSPF
- Must have experience with firewalls and packet captures
