The role of IT Help Desk / System Administrator to provide onsite IT support to end-users working at the Melville facility and remote support to sites located in Fort Lee and Hillsborough NJ.
Main Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day helpdesk operations for end-users by managing and resolving Helpdesk tickets via ServiceDesk/Service Now in a timely manner
- Provide technical support to end-users onsite or via phone or email.
- Ensures corporate infrastructure and security standards are applied and maintained in the facility(ies) assigned to the role
- Maintain and support computer hardware for end-users of the Company. Roll out new computers using deployment tools for corporate images and configure new users in Active Directory.
- Provides initial installation of electronic equipment and software necessary to perform work activities, in accordance with company procedures and standards.
- Track physical inventory and maintain laptops / servers / networking infrastructure including APs as per Site and Global IT procedures
- Support, maintain operating systems, including both hardware and software level troubleshooting. Must create/manage user accounts in Active Directory and 0365 tenant.
- Manage and support VMware Cluster, Hosts and related components
- Support LANs, WANs, Internet, and all site related infrastructure systems.
- Perform daily system monitoring including maintaining Backup Logs, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes
- Ensures the resolution of hardware and software problems of the IT systems, in compliance with company deadlines and procedures.
- Perform troubleshooting, technical support, and maintenance of third-party commercial client-server applications; Microsoft 365 operating systems; VOIP office phones; and all other related information and office automation systems
- Install and configure HP Switches with appropriate vlan assignment
- Documentation of all IT configurations and systems in document management system
- Strong capabilities to analyze and troubleshoot network, email, software, and system logs and events.
- Keeps current with system information, changes, and updates; researches and evaluates new technologies; and recommends network and server hardware and software.
- Maintain and Administer Servers, UPS, PDUs, switches, Desktop/ Laptops, printers, routers, phones, Back-ups, Anti-Virus, Microsoft-Imaging, Cisco Video Conference systems, personal digital assistants, firewalls, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches.
- Travel to local sites based on necessity
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or related discipline or equivalent education and experience.
- Three (3) plus years of hands-on experience in Helpdesk (L1, L2 & L3)
- Networking (Switching & VLAN Assignments) – (L2)
- Experience within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry and working knowledge of Good Manufacturing processes (GMP) and Computer Systems Validation (CSV) (preferred)
- Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
- Windows servers management and administration
- Effective organizational and prioritization skills. Strong written and verbal communications and the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and users.
- Must have strong problem-solving and communication skills and work through technical challenges with employees
- Ability to conduct and direct research into IT issues as required.
- Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
- Highly self-motivated and directed. Keen attention to detail.
- Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Time Management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
