WHAT YOU'LL DO
NASM is hiring a Cloud Architect to guide our organization’s efforts to establish and deploy a comprehensive cloud strategy, develop architecture, controls, automation and financial optimization of cloud-related solutions.
The Cloud architect will hold the accountability for developing Cloud hosted solutions and environments, managing cloud related migrations & projects, overseeing technical execution, and managing delivery via a matrixed organization.
This role will have accountability for all aspects of cloud testing, development, deployment, and DevOps implementation. This will include but is not limited to initial planning, budgeting, solution continuity, implementation and hand over to support with proper documentation, automation, monitoring and cost optimization in place.
WHERE YOU’LL WORK
This position will work a hybrid schedule from our Gilbert, Arizona office location. Remote will also be considered for this position.
HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME
- Partner with application develop, infrastructure and security teams to development strategic business, platform and technology roadmaps while driving a culture of ownership, quality and execution.
- Collaborates with key business and technology stakeholders to develop and implement cloud strategies which support our application architecture and business processes.
- Collaborates with stakeholders, recognizes challenges, and offers solutions.
- Lead in ongoing development and knowledge share of other architects, engineers and operational team members.
- Accountable for designing solutions and training content which consistently educates the organization on industry best practices and procedures.
- Design, deliver, maintain cloud processes, policies and procedures based on industry best practices.
- Establish proper key controls, monitoring capabilities, automation and optimization scripts necessary to maintain NASM’s cloud environments.
- Develop and maintain cloud, containerization, microservice standards.
- Design and implement Office 365 and Azure AD Premium's advanced features, such as security, governance, and compliance
- Provide next-level support for AWS and Azure issues with computing, network, and storage
- Designing and implementing ADFS identity solutions for applications other than Microsoft Office 365
- Driving cloud security, privacy, and compliance decisions through design and technical discussion concerns for size, performance, agility, and HA/DR
- Ability to analyze systems and identify problems migrating to Azure cloud
- Implement CI/CD-based application development methodologies using tools like Ansible, Jenkins, TFS, and PowerShell
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with business and technical staff on-site and in virtual environments.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Bachelor’s degree in computer-related field.
- 8+ years technical experience in Cloud Architecture or Cloud Engineering role
- 5+ years experience with Microsoft Azure
- 3+ years experience in a multi cloud environment
- 3+ years experience with cloud cost management
- 5+ years experience in Java
- 3+ years experience with open source technologies such as Redis, OpenStack, Ansible and Docker.
- 5+ years experience with a micro-services architecture, containerization, Linux, Windows Server.
- Proven experience with network architecture, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP.
- Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Cloud Platform's features and functionalities is required. These include security, firewalls, Redis cache, key vault, etc.
- Experience operating in a DevOps culture with a solid understanding of SDLC and agile software development methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire confidence, ownership, and accountability in the platforms within scope.
- Proven experience influencing and building trusted relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Proven experience creating a vision, long-term roadmap and team execution to achieve the outcomes of plan.
- A thought leader that adds value to the business and demonstrated ability to apply business logic to technical situations.
- Demonstrated ability to create an atmosphere of accountability and ownership in a cross-functional and matrixed org.
- Proven experience with applying a customer first or product mindset towards engineering.
- A change agent that delivers results to customers.
