GENERAL SUMMARY: Seeking full-time Network Analyst to join the Cyber Readiness Team supporting the Atlantic Surface Fleet in Norfolk, Virginia. This position will be filled by an applicant that can demonstrate knowledge of US Navy shipboard computing environments to assist in evaluating and inspecting shipboard information systems. The candidate will be required to travel between 10-15% to assist forward-deployed units.
LOCATION: Norfolk, VA.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assess shipboard networks to identify vulnerabilities while providing hands on training and remediation actions
- Perform network evaluation and analysis for DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Security Requirements Guides (SRGs) compliance utilizing current DISA approved Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) software
- Identify security requirements to bring a system into compliance and create a POA&M identifying those outstanding non-compliant items and assisting with mitigation strategies
- Understanding of computer security, military system specifications, and DoD Information Assurance policies and programs
- In depth understanding and experience in the implementation of Cyber Security and IA boundary defense techniques and various IA-enabled appliances (firewalls, IDS, IPS, switches/routers, Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) and EndPoint Security Systems (ESS), vulnerability scanning concept, and Windows Server Update Services.
DESIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- CANES system administration
- Configure, update, and maintain ACAS with latest audits and signatures
- Perform network vulnerability scans using ACAS per Program of Record (POR) or DoD directives
- Evaluate local ESS ePO afloat or Super-Agent Distributed Repository (SADR) for configuration compliance with DISA STIG(s) and higher-level directives
- Ability to perform complete site level analyses of vulnerability posture using Vulnerability Remediation and Asset Management (VRAM)
- Ability to develop briefing materials on security findings using VRAM, STIG Viewer, and ESS reports as well as ability to brief senior leadership
- Ability to troubleshoot Linux O/S
REQUIREMENTS:
- Understanding of computer security, military system specifications, and DoD Information Assurance policies and programs.
- In depth understanding and experience in the implementation of Cyber Security and IA boundary defense techniques and various IA-enabled appliances (firewalls, IDS, IPS, switches/routers, Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) and Host Based Security Systems (ESS), vulnerability scanning concept, and Windows Server Update Services.
- Ability to develop briefing materials on security findings using VRAM, STIG Viewer, and ESS reports as well as ability to brief senior leadership.
- Ability to troubleshoot Linux O/S
- Active Secret Security Clearance
- Current US Passport
- 8570 Information Assurance Technician (IAT) level II or IAM/ISSM level I Certification
- Experience with the configuration, troubleshooting, and management of shipboard information systems
- 5+ years of Information Assurance experience at the system level
- Experience managing ESS in a DoD environment
- Experience managing Tenable SecurityCenter and Nessus
- Experience working within a CANES environment
- Experience with Microsoft Server and Red Hat Linux Enterprise Server
