We're seeking a C4ISR Engineer to provide engineering oversight and application of advanced networking concepts DCGS Program Office. The C4ISR engineer is integrally involved in the analysis, study, and design of newly proposed IT projects within the AF DCGS Architecture.
Job Responsibilities:
- Analyze network characteristics (e.g., traffic, connect time, transmission speeds, packet sizes, and throughput) and recommend procurement, removal, and modification to existing network components
- Design, optimize, and implement a standardized network topology and configuration amongst 480 ISRW sites
- Diagnose and recommend remediation of problems and plan and coordinate installations, transitions, and cutovers of network components and capabilities
Perform periodic reviews, at the request of the Government, of existing network designs and capabilities to make refinements, reduce operating overhead, enhancing network throughput, improving reliability and security, and improving current network topologies
- Provide systems engineering support to resolve problems, transform customer requirements into technical solutions, generate information for decision makers, and provide information for follow-on processes
- Provide technical analysis and engineering support for all proposed and validated system requirements for C4ISR in support of operational requirements
- Provide technical solutions to facilitate multi-intelligence data integration into DCGS
- Devise strategies to synchronize the insertion of new ISR correlated/fused data with the efficient planning, direction, and operational employment of theater aerospace, ground, and naval forces
- Assess the feasibility of integrating ISR systems into DCGS, while minimizing the impact to current operations
- Develop system engineering documentation (i.e., white papers, reports/studies, briefings) to formalize concepts
- Design reconfiguration of the network to accommodate mission needs
- Engage in collaborative activities among the various sites
- Review requirements provided by the DCGS Program Office and Information Assurance Office (IAO) to determine bandwidth, performance, and Controlled Interface (CI) settings for establishing network configuration baselines
- Coordinate with program office on new projects to advise on current architecture impacts
- Review and provide system engineering level rigor to packages and advise Government leadership of recommendation within seven (7) duty (work) days of receipt
- Conduct a detailed engineering assessment for mission system requirements
- Participate in system requirements reviews, technical exchanges, and design reviews as directed
- Track, at a minimum, the number of sites supported, numbers of systems supported, managed (mission) equipment, network devices, circuits supported, tickets/PSRs/NSRs opened and closed, rack space, projects reviewed (1067s/CCB/IPTs/telecons etc.), projects supported (CAN upgrades, new installs, etc.) firewall traffic, systems audited, and accounts managed (local and remote)
Required Skills and Experience:
- Active Top Secret w/SCI eligibility
- Minimum of 15 years of IT engineering experience with 5 years C4 ISR/DCGS engineering preferred or Bachelor's degree in IT field and 10 years IT experience
- Ability to lead cross-functional project teams
- Ability to communicate with decision makers
- Possess or obtain CCNA within 6 months of hire
- Possess IAT Level II Security + (CE) certification
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Working knowledge of AF DCGS and AF ISR operations is desired
