As a Network Engineer, the candidate will conduct technical tasks, network monitoring and control, technical support including troubleshooting and resolving maintenance issues for all systems in the network. In this role, the Engineer�s primary task is design, configure, migrate and install network hardware/software for a multi-enclave environment. Additionally, the individual will work with other team engineers to develop programmatic actions and minimize security risks.
Responsibilities
- Monitors and controls the performance and status of network resources across multiple enclaves utilizing software and hardware tools
- Develops and maintains all networking documentation (drawings, cut sheets, configurations, and deployment plans)
- Works with engineers in support of networking related projects to support the mission
- Identifies and diagnoses problems and factors affecting network performance
- Provides day-to-day subject matter expert support
- Troubleshoots networking issues and outages, which may occur during non- core hours
- Works with third-party vendors and OEMs when necessary
- Ensures all networking applicable STIGs and vulnerabilities are resolved or mitigated in a timely manner.
- Performs migrations as needed to include development, test, and production networks
- Performs preventative maintenance services on all devices within the networking area of responsibility
- Maintains a current understanding of emerging technologies and trends in networking technology
- Performs other tasks as required by OSC and the Government contracting office
Required Qualifications/Education and Experience
- Bachelor�s degree (preferably in Information Technology, Information Management, or Cyber Security) is required, or the equivalent experience
- Must have and maintain a Secret personnel clearance and must be eligible for a TS/SCI
- Must be DoD 8570 certified at the IAT-II / IAM-II level. Security+ or Higher. Please refer to the website: https://public.cyber.mil/cw/cwmp/dod-approved-8570-baseline-certifications
- Must possess a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in computer network engineering
- Prior experience as a Network Engineer in a large government environment
- Must have experience with OSPF, BGP, and HSRP
- Must have experience with Cisco ASR routers, Catalysts switches, Nexus switches and ASA Firewalls
- 3+ years� experience installing and configuring CISCO Switches (i.e., Series 2900, 3700, 3800, 3900, 4500, 6500. Catalyst 9000 Series Preferred)
- 3+ years� experience in installing and configuring CISCO routers (i.e., ASR 1000 and ISR 4000 series)
- 3+ years� experience installing and configuration CISCO firewalls (i.e., ASA 5500 Series)
- Experience with Microsoft Visio and Word
