As a Network Engineer at Modern Woodmen, you would be responsible for the full life cycle of our network infrastructure. This would include actively participating in the daily operational activities and support of the Network Services team, which includes providing proactive maintenance and performing independent complex troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:
- Design, install and configure complete network infrastructures.
- Maintain servers and systems for optimized performance.
- Support, administer, optimize, and secure server and network technologies.
- Write scripts and automate processes where possible.
- Ensure that operational aspects are covered in relation to system backup and recovery processes and procedures.
- Document and create policies and procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and efficient administration of systems.
- Monitor and tune system hardware and software to achieve optimum performance levels.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot operational and performance issues.
- Participate in capacity planning for the network and network services to maintain adequate performance levels for Modern Woodmen.
- Mentor, coach and train less experienced members of the team and user communities.
- Provide Help Desk support for network infrastructure and server related incidents.
- Participate in occasional night and weekend work as required to implement changes during designated change windows.
- Participate in live site support and incident resolution that may include on-call rotation (24x7).
- Create and maintain relationships with software, hardware, and third-party vendors.
- Monitor and maintain software licensing and maintenance agreements.
- Research emerging technologies and maintain up-to-date knowledge on vendors and their product lines.
- Contribute to the development of goals, policies, and procedures for the Network Services team.
- Assist Network Services Supervisor with annual planning and budgeting.

- Network infrastructure, cloud infrastructure, security, and server administration.
- Cisco/Arista: routing, switching, and wireless.
- Meraki: MX, MS, and MR.
- Firewalls: Palo Alto (network), VMware NSX (distributed), Windows Defender (host).
- Load Balancers: F5, NSX, and Azure.
- VMWare technologies: vSphere, NSX, Cloud Foundation, and Aria Operations.
- Microsoft technologies: Active Directory, PowerShell, O365, and Azure.
- Backup & Storage technologies: Pure, NetApp, and Rubrik.
- VoIP technologies: Microsoft Teams and E911.
- APIs, scripting languages, configuration management, automation, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery.
What we offer:
- Pay: The annual pay range for this position is $83,000-$106,000. The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and prior experience. Candidates outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill and education.
- Work Arrangements: This is a full-time hybrid position: 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day), Monday- Friday, with flexible start time between 7:00AM-9:00AM. Hybrid positions work at least 3 days in office and the remaining days each week working from home. Employees beginning to work in a new hybrid role will be asked to work on-site (5 days a week) during the initial training period which may be up to 1 year.
