Akira Technologies, Inc. is looking for a Cloud Database Administrator to help support application and delivery of cloud-related database services and products to our federal clients.
The Cloud DBA will be responsible for providing database support for cloud services through monitoring, incident response and resolution, for both public and private cloud platforms (in the Azure environment). This individual will ensure availability, reliability, and security and performance of the databases; and reporting them to owners in a timely manner. Also, they are responsible and accountable for following up incidents, changing, and releasing problems through the management channels.
The candidate will need to have strong and relevant experience in cloud technologies, cloud services, IaC, cloud storage, cloud networking and cloud security. Candidate needs to have strong background in use of technologies such as cloud vNets, network security groups/ACLs, load balancer, traffic manager, firewalls, peering, private endpoints, etc.
Key Qualifications
- BA or BS in Computer Science or related field.
- 5-7 years experience in setting up and configuring cloud services such as Microsoft Azure.
- 5-7 years hands-on experience in Terraform.
- 5+ years experience in migrating on-premise databases to cloud platforms such as Azure.
- Experience with cloud technologies, cloud services, infrastructure as code (IaC), cloud storage, cloud networking, and cloud security.
- Extensive experience in Cloud vNets, Network Security Groups/ACLs, Load balancer, Traffic Manager, firewalls, peering, private endpoints, etc.
- Experience in high availability, replication, backup and restore/recovery, disaster recovery and monitoring of databases in hybrid cloud.
- Extensive experience with cloud database services and proficient in programming languages such as python and shell scripting, etc.
- Experience automating infrastructure setup and application deployment using bed practices of CI/CD with tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, and Terraform.
- Knowledge of cloud-based security tools, best practices and policies including demonstrated experience protecting all layers of the application stack.
- Must be a US Citizen and clearable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Government contractor experience.
- Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g. Azure Database Administrator Associate) are a plus.
Salary Range: $115,000 to $140,000
Akira’s pay range for this position considers various factors including skills, years of experience, training, licenses, certifications, alignment with market data, and internal equity in the organization.
