ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
As a member of the Cloud Engineering - SWAT team, you will support the overall success of Wind River cloud platform customers and partners. Our team is at the forefront of innovation in the telecom industry, and we are committed to delivering exceptional support to our customers and partners. You will be a key point of contact for our customers and partners, helping them to optimize their cloud deployments on our platform, which supports 5G and other telecom solutions for network core and edge.
You will collaborate closely with telecom customers and partners to understand their unique cloud deployment needs and ensure they are fully supported throughout their journey with our platform.
You will serve as the initial point of contact for investigating customer issues, providing prompt and effective resolutions to ensure customer satisfaction.
You will maintain strong relationships with customers and partners, acting as their primary engineering liaison for any inquiries, technical issues, or support needs.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide Tier 3/4 level customer support, troubleshooting platform and software issues for internal teams, customers, and partners.
- Work as part of a team focused on customer and partner priority and remediation
- Work with the most dynamic and exciting open-source software projects today – Kubernetes,OpenStack,KubeVirt, Helm, Ansible, Puppet, OSTree.
- Develop anddeliver platform troubleshooting and test features with high quality design and code.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in OpenStack and related core.technologies, incorporating them into the platform where appropriate.
- Investigate andresolve issues reported during product verification for customers and partners
- Serve as point of contact for investigating, resolving, and communicating issues with customers and partners
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s/Master’sdegreeinComputer Scienceorrelated field.
- 5+years ofprofessionalsoftware developmentor SRE experiencewith Bachelor’s
- 2+ years of programming experience withPython
- 2+ years ofprogramming experience withC/C++preferred
- 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns,reliabilityand scaling) of new and current systems.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+yearsof professionalexperience in buildinginfrastructure softwarefor highly scalable and distributed systems or performing SRE functions for cloud platforms
- Passion for mentoring other developing engineers
- Strong analytical and debugging skills.
- Prior telecom experience including 5G, ORAN, VRAN, network cloud
- Deep understanding of OpenStack architecture and components, including Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Keystone, and others
- Working knowledge of Containerization, Kubernetes (K8S), OpenStack, etc.
- Track record of building and delivering mission critical, 24x7 production software systems
- Contribution toOpenStack communityor related other open-source projects
- Basic knowledge ofCloud storagesolutions
- Working knowledge in L2/L3 networkingand OVS
- Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience with Cloud native solution and track record of low-level software development for 24x7 production software systems
- Exposure to Python, C/C++, Go-lang, Ansible, Helm, Puppet, SQL
- Public cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP)

Compensation
The annual base salary range for this role’s listed grade level is currently $107,800 to $145,000 plus a bonus for Colorado, New York, and New Jersey residents, and $122,000 to $165,000 plus a bonus for SF Bay Area, Greater Seattle, NYC, and Washington, DC, residents. Salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities of the applicant, and equity with other team members. Employees in this role are also eligible for the following benefits in accordance with the terms of the Company's plans: health, dental, vision insurance, life insurance, flex time off, eligibility to enroll in 401k, and 12 paid holidays.
