The System Administrator’s primary role is to install, configure, administer, and optimize all systems in the technology infrastructure, including, but not limited to: all aspects of the Windows Domain, Exchange, web servers, application servers, SANs (Storage Area Networks), disaster recovery systems, backup systems, wired and wireless networks, VoIP systems, firewalls, and AIX/Linux systems. Assists with Technical Support problems/issues by spotting reoccurring patterns and devising a solution to prevent them. Works with end users to setup new resources and resolve unexpected behaviors related to all managed systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manage all aspects of Active Directory environment, develop security strategies, test new product releases and patches, and develop migration plans to introduce fixes and releases.
- Administer corporate messaging infrastructure, including Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, and Email Filters.
- Manage all integral business applications including MS Office365 applications, Anti-Virus Software, web servers, etc. and administer support renewals.
- Work with other team members and management staff on Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity objectives; including research, implementation, administration, and documentation.
- Manage Cisco UCS and VMware infrastructure.
- Communicate and educate Computer Operations’ and Technical Services’ staff on routine system maintenance and operational tasks.
- Provide project management for system implementations. Create project plans, determine scope of work, assist in assigning responsibilities, determine timelines, conduct resource planning, and provide motivation and feedback to team members.
- Develop and maintain training materials and system documentation. Participate in cross-training with other team members to ensure adequate backup support for critical functions.
- Coordinate with other team members to provide trending analysis, documentation, and system recommendations to management staff.
- Coordinate with Applications Development team, ERP team, and BI team to schedule software releases and updates.
- Configure, upgrade, maintain, and troubleshoot networking devices such as switches, routers, next generation firewalls, and wireless controllers/access points.
- Conduct research of new technologies and implementation strategies by attending seminars, utilizing the Internet, subscribing to technical journals. Recommend and implement improvements.
- Participate in on call rotation. Perform system maintenance and upgrades on nights and weekends as needed.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from an accredited four-year college or university in a relevant technology field and at least 3 years’ related experience and/or training; or 5+ years of relevant fulltime work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills
- 3+ years' experience with Microsoft Active Directory networks and Microsoft Server Administration including experience with Microsoft Certificate Authority, IIS Web Servers and Microsoft SQL Servers.
- 3+ years’ experience with networking concepts including routing, switching, and subnetting.
- 3+ years’ experience working with DNS and DHCP technologies
- 3+ years’ experience with enterprise applications including Microsoft Exchange, antivirus and other endpoint protection suites, application control and content blocking technologies, and backup/recovery applications.
- 2 + years’ experience with VMware virtualization suite, including vSphere and esxi server.
- 3+ years of experience with wireless technologies.
- Some experience with IBM AIX/PowerVM or Linux systems administration experience preferred.
- Experience with SAN technologies including NetApp, and other direct attached storage components preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Microsoft, Cisco, Vmware, or Unix desired

Physical Demands
As a part of the Infrastructure Team, the employee is responsible for all aspects of our technical infrastructure which includes multiple administrative buildings, security stations, and a 600,000+ square foot, multi-temperature warehouse facility – all of which is covered by our wireless network.
- Employee must be able to walk distances up to a mile
- Lift equipment up to 40 pounds
- Work effectively at heights, and work in temperatures ranging from below freezing to ambient outside temperatures (provided proper equipment)
