Our Privacy team focuses on helping our clients implement an effective privacy programme that supports global, federal, and state regulations, enables an organization's data strategy and drives growth. As companies pivot toward a digital business model, exponentially more data is generated and shared among organisations, partners and customers. You'll play an integral role in helping our clients ensure they are protected by developing transformation strategies focused on privacy, efficiently integrate and manage new or existing privacy technology systems to deliver continuous operational improvements and increase their ability to respond to individual rights requests in a systematic manner.
Our team helps organisations safeguard personally identifiable information (PII) by identifying, prioritising, and protecting sensitive or high value business assets. In joining, you’ll focus on conducting privacy, security, and identity theft prevention assessments to build a privacy roadmap for our clients that can be integrated into a global privacy compliance and risk framework.

Preferred Qualifications:
- BS or MS degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, privacy engineering or related field of study;
Certification(s) Preferred:
- Privacy technologist with experience architecting and deploying privacy technology tools (e.g., OneTrust, Securiti.ai, BigID, Vault.js, etc.) as well as developing custom APIs / integrations;
- IAPP Certification(s) Preferred: Obtains one or more of the following certifications: Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US), CIPP certification in European privacy (CIPP/E), Canadian privacy (CIPP/C), Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT), Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP);
- Privacy Technology Certification(s) Preferred: Obtains one or more of the following certifications: Privacy technology software certifications on one or more of the following products: OneTrust, BigID, and/or Collibra;
Preferred Knowledge/Skills:
Demonstrates thorough level of knowledge in the following categories:
- Understanding of common privacy and information security industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, LGPD, PIPEDA, HIPAA / HITECH, COPPA, U.S. State Breach Disclosure Laws, CAN-SPAM, GLBA,) and industry frameworks (e.g., NIST, GAPP, ISO);
- Understanding of implementation of privacy technology software (e.g., OneTrust, BigID, Collibra);
- Exhibiting the ability to oversee the functional and technical implementation and platform adoption for all clients from start to finish;
- Demonstrating the ability to work closely and form relationships with the privacy technology software product teams to stay in touch with recent developments, industry trends, competitive landscape and customer needs;
- Demonstrating familiarity with the agile development framework;
- Demonstrating the ability to share privacy technology/engineering knowledge with junior colleagues;
- Demonstrating the ability to participate in business development activities for the privacy technology software relationships at the firm; and,
- Demonstrating the ability to optimize resource efficiency and effective deployment of tools and resources;
- Expertise in RESTful API principles, HTTP/HTTPS protocols, and data exchange formats such as JSON and XML;
- Expertise in JavaScript (Node.js), Python, Java or .NET;
- Deep understanding version control systems like Git is also crucial
- Expertise with API documentation standards such as OpenAPI (formerly Swagger);
- Proficiency in API design patterns, security practices like OAuth and JWT, and know-how in managing API gateways;
- Must be adept at using API testing tools to ensure robustness and reliability.
- Comfortable with CI/CD practices and tools;
- CIPT certification or equivalent;
- Possess experience designing & deploying at least one (ideally more) commonly used data privacy software tools (e.g. OneTrust, Securiti.ai, BigID, Collibra, Vault.js, etc.);
- Possess experience with data privacy technologies, including deployment of these technologies;
- Possess strong communication and presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate designs, proposals, and results; and negotiate options at management levels;
- 5 years' experience in privacy / data protection or a graduate degree or concentration in privacy engineering;
Demonstrates thorough knowledge and/or a proven record of success building data trust by solving complex privacy and information governance issues through developing and implementing privacy and risk strategies to assist clients across all industries with the following capabilities:
- Experience with architecting, designing, developing / configuring and deploying various data privacy software tools, inclusive of OneTrust, BigID, Securiti.ai, among others;
- Ability to document business and technical requirements and develop capabilities based on these requirements;
- Work to align advanced technologies and Privacy by Design principles from the first stages of development and ensure that the data use meets established regulatory compliance needs;
- Experience with designing and automating privacy & data protection program processes, including but not necessarily limited to: privacy by design, data mapping, data subject requests, cookie consent, universal consent & preferences, third-party risk, etc;
- Interacting with internal privacy program managers, product development teams, legal, compliance, governance and data protection teams;
- Analyze, design and program software enhancements for new data streams with a goal of developing technical solutions and systems to help mitigate privacy vulnerabilities and prevent potential future privacy risks;
- Interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications to new or existing software;
- Interface with other developers and architects in implementing solutions that enable the business to be data driven while protecting the data assets;
- Interface with usability team to ensure user-facing privacy controls are us;
API Engineer Responsibilities:
- Designing and implementing RESTful APIs, SOAP, or GraphQL services based on system requirements and industry best practices;
- Collaborating with front-end and back-end developers to ensure system consistency and improve user experience;
- Integrating third-party services and systems via APIs to enhance application capabilities;
- Creating API documentation for internal and external developers to facilitate easy integration and adoption;
- Monitoring API performance, optimizing code, and scaling the API infrastructure as needed;
- Developing and executing test cases to validate the functionality, reliability, and scalability of APIs;
- Keeping abreast of technological advancements and best practices in API development to continuously improve existing APIs;
- Participating in code reviews to maintain high code quality and encourage knowledge sharing among the development team;
