PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: A passion for Central One and our values. Directs the credit union’s information systems, programming, cyber-security, and IT operations functions. Provides senior management with leadership and direction of systems and technology. A strategic leader, overseeing the development and execution of the Credit union’s technology initiatives, with a focus on enhancing member experience and positioning our organization as a top provider of technology-enabled financial services.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Strives to be the Ideal Team Player: hungry, humble and (people) smart.
2. Serves as community role model and participates in volunteer activities to support the People Helping People value and enhance the Credit Union's visibility.
3. Lead the creation of a strategic plan for all technology initiatives, emphasizing improvements in member experience, cyber security and Networking capabilities.
4. Implement short and long-term visions for the Credit Union’s technology and information security needs and goals.
5. Stay informed about industry technology trends to ensure our technology infrastructure is current, stable, and secure.
6. Provides the Board and Senior Management with thought leadership on all areas and functions within IT and cyber security.
7. In charge of preparing, presenting and budgeting the Credit Union’s IT Strategic Plan annually.
8. Ensure IT staff provide exceptional service to both employees and members.
9. Support the third-party technology resources to enhance operational efficiency. Negotiate and monitor vendor contracts and service agreements.
10. Administer the Credit Union’s Information Security Program, developing and documenting standards, policies, and procedures to ensure system security and protection of confidential information.
11. Develop the IT Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans. Collaborate teams to coordinate and test these plans.
12. Serve on the Crisis Management Team to guide the organization’s response during emergencies or disruptions.
13. Stay current with regulatory requirements and industry IT developments. Ensure IT practices comply with regulations and recommend changes as needed.
14. Manage IT audit interactions, ensuring findings and recommendations are addressed.
15. Oversee the plans for network, telecommunications, hardware, and enterprise software according to business needs.
16. Develop and maintain the strategy and future direction of LAN and WAN technologies, Cybersecurity, resources, assets and protocols, voice over IP, telecommunications, hardware and software. Keep abreast of new technologies and security methodologies and their impact and cost to the credit union. Recommend new applications, equipment, upgrades and patches with consideration to operating budgets and organizational strategic plans.
17. Create, implement and maintain a security plan, a backup plan and a disaster recovery plan.
18. Coach and direct credit union staff in operational activities to ensure compliance with computer and network policies and procedures.
19. Manage and maintain an accurate, efficient and responsive operation to operate cost effective programs while ensuring a world class level of member service.
20. Implement all applicable policies and procedures while ensuring compliance within all aspects of Information Services and operational efficiencies.
21. Responsible for Vendor Management in areas of responsibility including vendor selection, evaluation of potential vendors, negotiating prices and contract terms, conducting due diligence and monitoring vendor performance to ensure vendor compliance with the responsibilities outlined in the contract and statement of work.
22. Stay current on job-related equipment, procedures and/or information by reading handouts/memos, attending meetings and seminars and other necessary means.
23. Adhere to all applicable Credit Union policies, procedures and regulations.
24. Maintain community involvement and participate in special projects, as needed.
25. Perform other duties as requested, or assigned.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree with professional certification.
Experience: 10-15 years of related experience, preferably in financial services.
Skills: Extensive understanding of network and operating systems, network hardware, protocols, and standards. Comprehensive project management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
