Summary
The Chief Information Officer (CIO) provides strategic vision and leadership for the planning, development, and implementation of enterprise IT systems to enhance business operations. This role is critical in improving cost effectiveness, service quality, and business development while ensuring compliance with data security, privacy, and regulatory requirements. The CIO acts as a key advisor to the executive leadership team, driving digital transformation, identifying emerging technologies, and aligning IT strategy with organizational goals. Additionally, the CIO oversees IT infrastructure to ensure scalability, reliability, and security, safeguarding sensitive data and enforcing cybersecurity policies.
Duties And Responsibilities (other Duties May Be Assigned)
- Provide expertise in networking, software development, project management, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, operations, vendor management, service delivery, and strategic planning.
- Develop and lead technology strategies that align with organizational goals and improve service delivery.
- Act as a key advisor to the executive leadership team, identifying technology trends and solutions to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives, leveraging advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning to improve scalability, efficiency, data-driven decision making, member engagement, and cost management.
- Oversee data processing methods, systems design, software development, and operational management.
- Enforce robust cybersecurity policies to protect sensitive member data, monitor potential threats, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align technology solutions with business needs.
- Lead and mentor the IT team, fostering a collaborative, results-driven, and innovative culture focused on continuous improvement and agility, ensuring the IT team remains responsive to evolving business needs.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, advancements, and market pricing, particularly within the healthcare sector.
- Manage annual IT operating and capital budgets, conducting cost/benefit analyses for investments and initiatives.
- Ensure all IT systems, policies, and practices comply with regulatory standards for data security and privacy, including HIPPA and PHI management.
Qualifications And Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field (MBA preferred).
- 10 years’ experience in a leadership role, including the management of development and infrastructure resources.
- Proven experience in developing strategic plans for application development and deployment.
- Experience in a healthcare setting; experience in TPA setting is highly desirable.
- Extensive experience in managing IS projects and budgets.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and logical thinking skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Advanced certifications in relevant IS areas are preferred.
