Responsibilities
Ability to understand client’s current network architecture and provide solutions for current challenges.
Design and assist with the implementation of network routing solutions to eliminate current application access constraints.
Possibly assist with the rollout of a new VPN solution for the agency. Assist in troubleshooting of potential network issues.
Collaborate with team members to understand current network architecture and provide solutions to streamline network access across the agency, and including to other state agencies, as required. Adhere to security best practices with respect to network architecture recommendations and changes.
Support implementation of network routing changes off-hours, as required.
Participate in troubleshooting activities to maintain network routing efficiency.
Qualifications
- 8 years of Network Engineering experience, with a concentration in network routing.
- CCIE and/or CCNP certification.
- Demonstrable experience with routing protocols:BGP and OSPF.
- Must be proficient in Azure Networking, including Express Route. Must have familiarity with hub and spoke models and usage of Virtual WANs in Azure environments.
- Must possess expert level troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to create network diagrams.
- Understanding of constraints associated with working in a production environment and being able to support off-hour change tickets.
- Effective at managing competing priorities and can work independently with little or no supervision.
- Excellent communication skills: verbal and written, along with excellent documentation skills.
