The Server Systems Administrator responsibilities will include helping lead our IT team, monitoring system performance and configuring new software and hardware. This position will be based in the Psomagen office in Rockville, Maryland.
Responsibilities
- Install servers, devices and firewalls
- Monitor The performance of servers, software and hardware
- Ensure The smooth deployment of new applications
- Manage and maintain moderately complex system environments.
- Manage and maintain servers and filesystem.
- Manage and maintain Server room temperature and humidity.
- Configure internal Systems
- Diagnosing and troubleshoot technical issues
- Upgrade The network infrastructure
- Update technical documentation
- Assist and lead an IT team.
- Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation.
- Support The help desk via phone, email, vtc, and/or chat, as required.
- Support The deployment and installation of equipment at remote sites as required.
- Support The network Administrator with network device configurations
- Assist with software and hardware selection and evaluation and other procurement activities as required.
- Provide maintenance for desktops, laptops, IP phones, videoconferencing Systems, printers and peripherals on the corporate network
- Provide Support for issues related to desktops, laptops, and applications
- Provide Support for email related issues
- Install, Configure, and maintain Windows and Mac OS laptops and desktops, including software, upgrades, and network connectivity
- Ensure expedient resolution of problems related to laptops, desktops, and servers
Minimum Qualifications
- Bilingual (English & Korean)
- A solid understanding of LAN/WAN networking
- Group Policy design and configuration
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Server: CentOS, Windows2019
- Experience with AWS - Ability to build EC2 instances, set up Load Balancers, S3, RDS
- Experience with File system: Lustre and Arca stream
- Experience with Active Directory
- Networking experience
- Standing up servers from scratch with dependencies such as - Ruby (RoR), Redis, MYSQL, MariaDB, Java, Nginx, Apache, etc.
- Building and configuring local servers - Experience with hardware, BIOS, server configuration, power configuration, server maintenance/security
- Good understanding of scripting platforms & tools, including PowerShell, Python, etc.
- Good understanding of networking and cybersecurity fundamentals (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, SSL, OSI Model, Routing & Switching, Firewall Policy & Configuration, IPS)
- Experience with security processes and documentation
- Understanding of logging mechanisms
