Looking for a new opportunity to be excited about? Our client is an IT Managed Service Provider supporting businesses in Colorado and Pennsylvania. As they continue to grow, they are adding a Director of Project and Account Management to the team. This is a remote opportunity where you will work from a home office with some occasional travel.
As the Director of Project and Account Management, you will play a dual role, focusing on both project management and relationship management, the two pillars in an MSP that drive client retention. You will be responsible for performing both project and account management yourself on some of the firms larger relationships while also managing a team of Technical Account Managers (TAMs) who perform the same function as you following a common process for the remainder of the client base. For our largest relationships, you will lead project teams composed of various service delivery team members to ensure complex projects are completed on time, within scope, and to client satisfaction. Additionally, you will oversee that the TAMs who report to you utilize a similar process for project management that is consistent and repeatable. This role requires a blend of business acumen, relationship management skills, leadership skills, and project management expertise, with a focus on building long-term client relationships and delivering successful outcomes.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor degree in business administration, Project Management, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred
- 5+ years of experience in business development, project management, or a similar dual-role capacity, which preferably includes:
- Proven track record of account management and/or relationship management within a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment
- Experience managing Technical Account Managers (TAMs) within a Managed Services Provider (MSP)
- Demonstrated success in overseeing IT projects, including budget management, timeline adherence, and resource allocation
- Strong understanding of IT services, managed services, and cloud-based technologies
- Familiarity with project management software or PSA modules for tracking tasks, milestones, and team collaboration
- Working knowledge of IT infrastructure and managed services offerings such as remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools, cloud services, cybersecurity, and backup solutions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), with the ability to generate reports, presentations, and project plans
- Understanding of financial management and budgeting tools for project oversight
- Demonstrated experience in building long-term client relationships, with a deep focus on understanding and anticipating client needs
- Excellent judgement and problem-solving skills, ensuring the company meets and exceeds client expectations
- Ability to clearly communicate technical information and project updates to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- A valid Drivers License and motor vehicle sufficient for transport up to 75 miles away on an as needed basis, and current automobile insurance that meets or exceeds your resident States minimum requirements
- Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple client accounts and projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
- The ability to travel out of town as needed to business meetings and conferences
This is a remote opportunity. Preference for candidate to be based in the Denver area or somewhere in the Midwest.
