The role of the Security Analystis responsible for the overall security and protection of technology assets and oversight of all information security tasks within the Credit Union. This includes performing risk and security assessments, educating/training staff, ensuring processes and procedures are compliant and follow applicable laws and industry regulations, and implementing all necessary security strategies within the IT Department. Our Security Analyst will be responsible for developing, modifying, and overseeing all policies and practices related to information security. The ideal candidate is a go-getter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for serving others. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Auditing and Logging tools is a must! They should be comfortable working independently and as a contributing member of a team. Meeting deadlines and attention to detail are critical pieces of this position. A Day in the Life of a Security Analyst INCLUDES:
- Overseeing the research and analysis of designated security systems, and coordinating the feasibility, cost justification, selection, and purchase of said systems
- Working with internal and external auditors and examiners to ensure compliance with regulations, laws, and established standards and procedures.
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining a company-wide information security plan and risk assessment
- In coordination with the IT Department’s Leadership, preparing plans to protect the Credit Union’s technology assets against any breaches
- Conducting security education training for all system users on appropriate risk mitigation strategies
Security Analyst Skills and qualifications include:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems and Decision Sciences (ISDS). Courses related specifically to cybersecurity are preferred.
- Equivalent related experience may be considered in lieu of meeting education requirements.
- 3 years of directly related experience to include performing IT security audits, preparing IT security risk assessments, and reviewing agreements to ensure security objectives are met
- Knowledge of SEIM systems for reporting and analysis
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Auditing and Logging tools
- Knowledge of IPS/IDS Systems and Reporting
- Ability to analyze large datasets and prepare concise reports of key data points
