System Administrator
POSITION PURPOSE
Manage, maintain, and optimize the credit unions information technology infrastructure
including server, networks, and software systems to ensure efficient operation and security. This
involves tasks such as installing and configuring hardware and software, monitoring system
performance troubleshooting issues, implementing security measures, and providing technical support
to end users.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITES
Includes the following: Other duties may be assigned and may include special projects.
• Installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, operating systems, and software applications
to include the Office 365 suite.
• Monitor system performance, identifying issues, and troubleshooting problems to ensure uptime
and reliability.
• Implement and manage security measures, such as firewalls, antivirus software, and access
controls, to protect against cyber threats.
• Monitor and configure regular backups and assist with disaster recovery procedures and processes
to safeguard credit union data integrity.
• Managing user accounts, permissions, and access levels to ensure security and compliance with
organizational policies and procedures.
• Automate routine tasks and processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Providing technical support and assistance to end-users, including resolving hardware and
software issues and training on system usage.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to maintain comprehensive
records and facilitate knowledge sharing.
• Staying informed about new technologies, trends, and best practices in system administration to
continuously improve the information technology infrastructure and services.
Required Skills/Abilities:
•Strong Knowledge and experience with operating systems (such as Windows server, Linux/Unix),
networking protocols hardware components and software applications (O365) relevant to system
administration.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently, using systematic problem- solving
techniques and diagnostic tools.
• Understand cybersecurity principles and best practices, including implementing security
measures, managing access controls, and addressing/patching vulnerabilities.
• Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) to automate routine tasks and
streamline system management processes.
• Familiarity with network protocols, routing, switching, and VPN technologies, as well as
experience configuring and troubleshooting network infrastructure.
• Experience implementing backup strategies, disaster recovery plans, and data protection measures
to ensure business continuity and data integrity.
• Ability to create comprehensive documentation, including system configurations, procedures,
troubleshooting guides, and user manuals.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with colleagues, end- users, and
vendors, as well as the ability to convey technical information in a clear and understandable
manner.
• Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and
meet deadlines in a fast -paced environment.
• Willingness to learn new technologies, adapt to changing requirements, and stay updated on
industry trends and advancements in system administration.

Duties and tasks are varied and often not standardized. Works on assignments that are not routine
in nature where the ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.

employees. This includes non-management positions that generate revenue, manage large projects, or
have authority to prevent a significant loss. Does not have budgetary responsibilities and is not
authorized to make decisions that would commit or jeopardize company assets. Moderate supervision

Certificates and Licenses
• Microsoft 365 certified (Required)
• CompTIA A+ Network+, Security+ (1 Required)
• Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA). (Preferred)
Education
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Business,
Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field (preferred but not required)
Experience
3-5 years of experience in providing IT (Information Technology) support and/or business and
technical analysis functions is highly preferred.
Experience working in the banking/credit union industry is preferred.

under a telecommute/remote work structure and is required to meet all provisions of the Remote Work

position and the credit union.
Physical/Environmental
Essential duties are performed in a general office work environment and prolonged periods sitting
at a desk and working on a computer, calculators, copiers, and other business office machines and
equipment. Essential duties may also involve occasional kneeling, squatting, bending, walking,
crouching, stooping, and lifting to thirty pounds to move credit union equipment or stack credit
