Manager, Network Security
Location: This job is available to work in one of our hub locations: Tampa, FL; Denver, CO; DC metro area, CA (Bay area), Austin, TX and will be hybrid
As a Manager, Network Security you will report directly to the Director, Platform Engineering and will be responsible for leading and mentoring the Network Security team, while enhancing and structuring the service offering for future expansion. This structure will include standardization of processes, establishment of a Knowledge Management practice, identification and reporting of KPIs, objectives, and metrics while assisting leadership in validating the profitability of the team through management of budgeted costs, and operational expenditures.
As a leader you will continually assess the talent, skills, and career potential of your team to ensure the delivery of only the greatest customer experiences. Your responsibilities will encompass building and nurturing strong customer relationships in close collaboration with other internal stakeholders. This includes providing guidance, expert insight, requirements, dependencies, and direction to product development teams for enhancing the capabilities of the team. This role requires a focus on leadership, customer value and experience, cross-functional services integrations, service resiliency, business partnership, and collaboration. Ultimately, your contributions will play a vital role in fulfilling Deepwatch’s mission of delivering exceptional value to our shareholders, customers, and employees.

In this role, you’ll get to:
- Be responsible and accountable to the establishment and maintenance of standardized processes, efficiency measurements and Knowledge Management practice to ensure quality delivery of service components, including development and maturation of procedures and processes
- Be responsible and accountable to the identification and reporting of KPIs, objectives, Internal SLAs, and metrics while assisting leadership in validating the profitability of the team through management of budgeted costs, and operational expenditures
- Implement the technical and administrative requirements of the Network Security practice at Deepwatch, including: deliverable design, inter-program and cross-functional communication, etc.
- Provide in-depth mentoring to Firewall engineers
- Ensure 24/7 operations are running smoothly to meet customer needs
- Keep abreast of security news, techniques, and trends, tooling, feature releases and bugs, including potential impact and value to our customers
- Review and Enhance Services Runbooks & Playbooks
- Assist in developing testing methodologies, requirements, and value proposition for new and emerging technologies
- Attend (as needed), current and potential customer escalations, discussions, reviews, and other front facing meetings to ensure collaboration and positive relationships with customers
- Perform other duties as assigned
You’ll be successful in this role, if you:
- Demonstrate understanding of Network Security engineering, administration, and associated terminologies by obtaining and maintaining, within your first year, at least one of the following certifications: CISM, CISSP, Palo Alto PCNSA, Cisco CCNA, or Fortinet NSE
- Leverage your previous leadership experience and knowledge of ITIL Service management and Agile frameworks to hire, manage, and develop a 24/7, technical customer support team equating in delivery of value to customers in a dynamic environment
- Foster and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, including customers, as needed, and collaborate directly with other Deepwatch Expert leaders
- Establish and continually refine daily processes and procedures by constant awareness of team approach to solving problems
- Continuously evaluate individual and team skills, quality of work, knowledge, and experience while leveraging team strengths to break down barriers to the team’s success
- Can effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, including customer, individual contributor, leadership and executive levels
- Prioritize caseload in accordance with appropriate SLAs, capabilities of team members, and documented SLAs to cases are assigned, actively worked, and resolved in an efficient and timely manner
- As required, be available for periodic after-hours calls, including nights and weekends work to effectively support the team and Deepwatch customers
- Serve as a role model of Deepwatch’s Core Values and embody the Deepwatch Leadership Attributes of Ownership, Deliver Results, Hire & Develop the Best, Have Backbone; Disagree and Commit, and Earn Trust
- Possess experience in cybersecurity operations, Firewall management & network topologies, architectures and operational components e.g. Monitoring, Alerting, Netflow, etc.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of network architecture and network infrastructure engineering
ITAR Compliance

The anticipated salary range for this role is $152,000 to $228,000 + stock options + benefits. Actual compensation may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
