As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Consumer & Community Banking Data Technology, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Participates in, design and develop scalable and resilient systems using Python to contribute to continual, iterative improvements for product teams
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
- Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
- Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
- Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronic Engineering, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered as a Software Engineer, Data Engineer, Cloud Developer, or related occupation.
- Strong experience in developing enterprise software and proficiency in multiple technologies, preferably AWS, Hadoop, and Python
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Proficiency with ETL
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications, big data platform, and technical processes within a data technology and management.
- Creates Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions such as Terraform / Ansible
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
- Strong experience in developing enterprise applications using Python.
Nice to have additional capabilities and skills
- Experience with container technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS EKS
- Proficiency in setting up alerting and monitoring tools like Datadog, Grafana, Splunk, Dynatrace
- Experience in CI/CD pipeline preferably Jenkins & Spinnaker and Version Control tools (BitBucket, GIT)
- Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a public cloud environment
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills with clear communication.
- Understanding the importance of great documentation with a passion for helping customers.
