Designs, develops, implements, and maintains operations automation applications for Enterprise Infrastructure (EI) Production Services. Designs, develops, and automates the delivery and implementation of software applications according to Agile and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) methodologies, using Node.js, NPM, Asynchronous Programming, Angular, HTMLS, CSS3, Java, J2EE, Postgre or MySQL, Maven or Ant, Git, REST, Azure or AWS cloud technologies, Apache HTTP, and Tomcat Servers. Designs and develops scalable solutions and test automation routines -- documents and executes test plans to ensure new automation components satisfy business and systems requirements. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Participates in architecture design teams.
- Defines and implements application level architecture.
- Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.
- Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.
- Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.
- Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
- Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
- Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.
- Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.
- Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.
- Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.
- Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.
- Advises senior management on technical strategy.
- Mentors junior team members.
- Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing and supporting. J2EE Web applications within a financial and health care services environment.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing and supporting. J2EE Web applications within a financial and health care services environment.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
- Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and developing Java RESTful Web services for enterprise applications in a Tomcat environment, using Spring Boot, Spring, J2EE frameworks, Cloud Technologies (AWS/AZURE) and Messaging services -- JMS or Apache Kafka -- and Junit and Mocking frameworks.
- DE building and deploying applications and services to host in virtual machines; and deploys code uses automation through Jenkins and uDeploy tools.
- DE executing in a self-directed Scrum team applying scaled Agile software development methodology.
- DE analyzing data by querying Oracle or Postgre databases, using SQL, PL/SQL, and Unix scripts; and developing multi-tier enterprise applications, using Amazon Web Services (AWS) or AZURE Cloud platforms, Micro Services, Spring Boot, NoSQL Cloud database, and testing frameworks – Spock.
