As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the within the Corporate and Investment Bank in Currencies and Emerging Markets Technology Team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various applications in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes creative software solutions through design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Writes test cases, leverages unit and integration testing
- Works closely with product engineering lead and acts as a mentor for the junior developers in the region by helping them build solutions, doing code reviews and unblocking issues
- Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Advanced in one or more programming language(s) - Strong experience in languages like Python, C++, Java or Go language
- Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
- Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Practical cloud native experience
- Knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT system
