Senior Software Engineer
CLYNK is a circular economy solutions provider. We make it easy for retailers, brands, redemption operators and everyday people to do the right thing through our consumer-centric “bag-drop” technology solutions. Our technology supports recycling at scale across an entire ecosystem including states with Deposit Recovery Systems (aka Bottle Bills) and Producer Responsibility Organizations or Brands who enable customers to recycle with convenient solutions.
Summary:
CLYNK is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to lead the next wave of disruption in consumer-based recycling! The ideal candidate will have proven experience leading software development teams in the delivery of a variety of complex projects for an organization. The Senior Software Engineer will have the opportunity to work with a myriad of tech systems including real-time embedded, consumer facing, payment system integrations and beyond. Because of economics and focus on recycling nationally, CLYNK is well positioned for exponential growth; this role is foundational to our ability to scale. This role is based out of CLYNK's headquarters in South Portland, Maine. Relocation support is available to the right candidate.

Responsibilities:
- Evaluate complex project requirements and translate them into clear, actionable technical specifications.
- Produce detailed documentation to support software architecture, design decisions, and implementation processes.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable software applications in an Agile environment.
- Implement robust testing practices, including unit and integration testing, to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management and customer support, to gather requirements and provide technical guidance.
- Facilitate discussions to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring project alignment and success.
- Provide technical mentorship and support to junior engineers, helping them grow their skills and knowledge.
- Conduct code reviews, share best practices, and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
- Participate in additional tasks and projects as needed to support team objectives and organizational goals.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience with progressive growth in software development.
- Expertise in one or more programming languages, with a strong preference Vue, Node.JS, C#, Javascript.
- An understanding of software architecture and design principles, with a focus on building scalable and maintainable systems.
- Experience with designing and deploying microservices.
- Strong knowledge of software development best practices, including code reviews, testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Additional Qualifications:
- Physical requirements: must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time
- Schedule:this is an exempt, salaried position expected to work 40 hours per week; additional hours may be necessary outside of normal business hours according to business demands
- Location:this role is based out of our corporate office in South Portland, Maine with flexibility to work from home up to 2 days per week
- Travel: occasional travel depending on the business development needs; anticipated travel up to 15%
