As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Asset & Wealth Management's Infrastructure group, you are an integral part of a team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for driving critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems. Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others

- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Leads technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
- Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect. Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience
- Knowledge and expertise in Java programming and designing modern architectures based on micro services(REST APIs). Expert in at least two of the preferred tools (Grafana, Edge, GENEOS, Splunk, DynaTrace Managed, Prometheus, Selenium, Satori, and other similar tools)
- Knowledge and expertise in best practices around promotion of code across environments
- Knowledge and expertise in best practices around adequate testing in a development environment prior to promotion to test
- Experience and expertise in data strategies in lower environments to better facilitate the testing process
- Hands on experience in using Automation tools like Selenium and Playwright with Javascript/Typescript.
- Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps tool chain like Jenkins. Experience in integrating functional tests in the pipelines(Smoke test).
- Knowledge of Oracle or other SQL based databases. Proficient in application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines. Strong general technology background in the distributed applications space (i.e. Unix and core server infrastructure, databases, middleware web services, etc.)
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Practical cloud native experience
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
- At least a BS degree in Computer Science from a university/college. MS or PhD in Computer Science is a plus. Will consider non-CS degrees if there is strong relevant experience
