Experience Linux Systems Engineer
Active DoD Secret Clearance and eligible for Top Secret Clearance
Also must past a T4 Federal background check
7+ years of Linux Systems experience to include designing, implementing and troubleshooting enterprise class IT systems
Strong hands on experience engineering and managing Linux-based servers
Experience engineering and managing Microsoft Windows servers
Strong knowledge of at least one scripting language e.g., PowerShell, Java, Python, Perl, Bash, etc.
Solid understanding of LAN/WAN networks
Experience managing 24x7 operations to include : critical problem escalation, resolution, and vendor management
Knowledge of system security techniques including applying DISA STIGs to information systems
Experience with designing/implementing/supporting comprehensive, modular Enterprise IT solutions
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Able to work well on a team as well as on individual tasks
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Planning, organizational, project and portfolio management skills
One active certification: M365E/X, LPIC CCNP or Linux+
Bachelor’s Degree in related field or 8 additional years of experience is required
DUTIES :
The ideal candidate will support and maintain the client's Information Systems in a distributed environment for large Federal Government Agency
The ideal candidate will support and maintain the client's Information Systems in a distributed environment
Responsible for problem resolution, performance tuning and analysis, proactive problem prevention, detection, circumvention, and resolution to root causes
Provide server management, upgrades, systems hardening, network set up to clients Linux systems
Provide capacity management, planning, and mitigation in relation to all datacenter and infrastructure needs for the Division
Provide application of software patches as well as release and version upgrades of operating systems and associated software to maintain supportability
Provide 24 / 7 / 365 monitoring of all Division datacenter and infrastructure assets and respond and escalate according to escalation processes
