Job Description:
Join Team Rhombus, where we tackle critical national security issues. We are looking for top-tier systems thinkers and mission-driven individuals to help drive impactful solutions for our key national security initiatives. As a Data Scientist, you'll be embedded with our San Diego-based client, NIWC PAC, addressing crucial deterrence problems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pull and clean data from various sources.
- Develop and implement machine learning models and solutions for complex problems.
- Work with highly classified problem sets using code blocks from Rhombus.
- Build large-scale LLM workflows and interact with customers to understand their needs and set AI strategies.
- Take ownership of high-stakes projects, collaborating in small teams.
What We Seek:
- Experience in data science, data engineering, and machine learning.
- Ability to lead analytical exploration, design, build, and maintain scalable platforms.
- Proficiency in data processing pipelines and advanced analytics tools.
- Competence in discovering datasets, creating quantitative models, and conducting validation and quality assurance.
- Strong collaboration skills and adaptability in dynamic environments.
Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI Clearance is required.
- Advanced degree (Master's or higher) in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python and data handling libraries (e.g., Pandas, PyArrow).
- Experience with database management solutions (e.g., MySQL, Oracle).
- Skills in large-scale data processing and batch processing pipelines in HPC or cloud environments.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCloud, Azure) is a plus.
- Expertise in programming and scripting languages, especially Python, Pandas, and Numpy. Other languages (Shell, PERL, Java, C/C++/C#, Scala) are beneficial.
- Technical fluency in machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, Scikit-Learn).
