Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Director of Innovation to spearhead our innovation strategy and drive the development of cutting-edge solutions. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with a proven track record of successfully leading innovation initiatives, managing cross-functional teams, and translating creative ideas into tangible business results.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive innovation strategy aligned with the company’s goals and objectives. Identify emerging trends, technologies, and opportunities to drive long-term growth and competitive advantage.
- Innovation Management: Lead the ideation, development, and execution of innovative projects and initiatives. Establish and manage innovation processes, including idea generation, evaluation, prototyping, and scaling.
- Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of innovation professionals. Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, including R&D, marketing, operations, and finance, to ensure alignment and integration of innovation initiatives across the organization.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate innovation strategy, progress, and outcomes to key stakeholders, including executive leadership, board members, and external partners.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and threats. Utilize insights to guide innovation efforts and ensure relevance in the market.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the innovation budget. Allocate resources effectively to support project goals and deliver ROI.
- Performance Measurement: Establish metrics and KPIs to assess the effectiveness of innovation initiatives. Monitor progress and make data-driven adjustments as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Technology, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA, MSc, etc.) preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in innovation management, strategic planning, or related roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Proven track record of successfully leading innovation projects and initiatives from concept to execution.
- Strong understanding of industry trends, emerging technologies, and market dynamics.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically and creatively, with a strong focus on results and impact.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with senior executives.
