Position Overview:
The Senior IT Project manager will be an integral part of an APTNEXUS delivery team supporting Federal Government agencies. The candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the contract including transition, staffing, financial management, as well as technical, and programmatic reporting. He/she will be responsible for overseeing both employees and subcontractors. The candidate is also expected to work seamlessly with the KO and COR along with key customer decision makers to maintain the technical/cost/schedule baseline and generate deliverables while working with the customer to define tasks and set expectations. Your job responsibilities will include:
- Manage a multi-year support services contract for federal government clients.
- Ensure the success of, and provide oversight for, transition-in and out activities during contract lifecycle.
- Ensure that contract goals are accomplished according to contractual requirements and business objectives in accordance with Project Management Institute (PMI) standards.
- Exercises broadly delegated authority for planning, directing, coordinating, administering, and executing multiple routine and complex contract requirements and expectations.
- Will be client-facing and required to deliver contractual deliverables on time and within budget; will plan and manage development schedules, work closely with contract staff, and communicate timely status/progress to multiple stakeholders in an agile manner.
- Provides thought leadership to contract analyses and process improvement activities.
- Communicates effectively with a wide variety of technical and non-technical audiences.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, or related field.
- Active PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
- At least 10 years of IT Project Management experience.
- At least 5 years of experience leading large projects within the federal government arena.
- At least 5 years of experience working with Time & Materials and Firm Fixed Price contracts and with project budgeting and scheduling.
- Awareness of federal government contracting regulations and standards in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
- Familiarity with Agile Scrum project management principles.
- Ability to analyze, and identify program task needs, work through complex issues, and communicate effectively problem solving, and providing solutions to critical tasks and meet high priority deadlines.
- Willingness to work on-site at the client site as needed in the Washington DC metro area (hybrid position).
- Ability to prepare professionally formatted deliverables using Word, Visio, and PowerPoint to include complex data tables and figures.

- Demonstrated expert ability to effectively work with senior and executive level government staff
