Under the general direction of the ICOM Chief Information Officer, the Systems Administrator will implement computer and software system requirements by defining and analyzing system problems; designing and testing standards and solutions. They will monitor and manage current systems usage and propose updates, upgrades and systems solutions based on analysis performed. As part of the IT team, the Systems Administrator will be cross trained to provide tier one and two support on day to day hardware, software and A/V media issues as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Defines application problem by conferring with users; evaluating procedures and processes
- Monitors and maintains network infrastructure
- Develops solution by preparing and evaluating alternative workflow solutions
- Controls solution by establishing specifications; coordinating production with vendors.
- Validates results by testing programs.
- Ensures operation by training user personnel; providing support.
- Manages user databases
- Provides reference by writing documentation
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
- Research emerging technologies to decide if installing them can increase the organization's efficiency and effectiveness
- Prepare an analysis of costs and benefits so that management can decide if IT upgrades are financially worthwhile
- Supports and collaborates with Technical Support Specialists
- Devise ways to make existing IT systems meet new needs
- Design and develop new systems by choosing and configuring hardware and software
- Oversee installing and configuring the new system to customize it for the organization
- Perform tests to ensure that the systems work as expected
- Train the system's end users and write instruction manuals, when required
- Performs other related duties, as assigned
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering information systems or at least 3 years proven experience in a related position
- Experience working in and supporting Mac OS, iOS applications
- Proven experience in Software architecture, design, documentation, testing, maintenance and/or development of applications
- Networking experience a plus with familiarity using Meraki
