As an IT Solution Architect at Micron representing one or more service domains, you will participate in the ongoing partnership and communication with the various Enterprise Architecture (EA) teams, Site IT, Solution Managers, Project Managers, and with project teams to develop and implement systems that align with Micron’s Systems Architecture and Roadmaps. Use your expertise in the Solution Group's business processes and IT solutions to provide mentorship on future capabilities and roadmaps.
Responsibilities Include, But Not Limited To
- Demonstrate deep knowledge in one or more service's domains and/or their technical roadmap solutions.
- Understand the high-level business processes and requirements.
- Understand how our IT solutions solve business problems both today and enable the business plans for the future.
- Stay up-to-date with technical and service domain knowledge to contribute to future roadmap decisions.
- Participate in the creation and maintenance of business, data, application and technology architectures.
- Provide service domain level expertise on projects and operational efforts.
- Collaborate with IT Enterprise Architects, Project Managers, Solution Group Managers, and business unit collaborators to comprehend business requirements and their alignment with current roadmap solutions and capabilities.
- Collaborate with Operations Managers and business area collaborators to identify gaps in the architecture.
- Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of backup and data resiliency solutions using modern platforms such as Rubrik, Cohesity, and other relevant technologies.
- Architect and optimize data protection workflows to ensure highly available, secure, and scalable backup infrastructures.
- Develop and maintain backup strategies with a solid focus on immutable backups to safeguard against ransomware attacks.
- Design backup policies with proactive ransomware detection capabilities using advanced monitoring and alerting systems.
- Provide work estimates for EA and Portfolio project efforts.
- Work with project teams during design and execution to ensure alignment to existing roadmap and reference architectures.
- Work with vendors and suppliers to ensure their solutions continue to meet our business needs.
- Work together with multi-functional teams, such as security, infrastructure, and application teams, to ensure backup solutions align with overall business needs and security policies.
- Apply the Architecture Development Methodology, Project Architecture Review, and Roadmap Management processes to ensure the value and flexibility of Micron's information technology are maintained.
- Establish and manage recovery objectives (RPO/RTO) to meet business continuity requirements.
- Drive consistencies across technologies.
- Develop, coordinate, and promote standard methodologies.
- Drive for collaboration and cooperation between worldwide Fabrication sites to align the business.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the backup operations team, ensuring they are proficient in modern backup technologies and processes.
- Keep architecture artifacts up-to-date.
- Ensure backup solutions align with relevant data security and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Build and maintain detailed documentation of backup architecture, policies, and procedures.
- Define, in conjunction with other support groups and service providers, functionality required to support business strategies.
- Design, and implementation of backup and data resiliency solutions using modern platforms such as Rubrik, Cohesity, and other relevant technologies.
- Optimize data protection workflows to ensure highly available, secure, and scalable backup infrastructures.
- Research and partner with vendors and management to select products that best meet company needs.
- Implement robust data protection and recovery strategies to detect and mitigate ransomware threats.
- Provide 24x7 On-Call technical support and expertise for customer issues and service provider partner concern.
- Maintain and review the Blueprints on a regular basis.
Minimum Qualifications
At least 10 years in managing enterprise storage & backup solutions and should include a minimum of 3 years in an architect role, preferably:
- NetApp systems in a hybrid cloud environment.
- Dell EMC product lines, such as PowerScale, PowerMax, VPLEX and PowerStore
- Pure storage products such as FlashArray & FlashBlade
- Backup technologies such as IBM Spectrum Protect, Veeam, Rubrik, Cohesity
- Experience with managing sophisticated SAN Switch environment; Cisco SAN experience is preferred
- Experience leading and crafting in a hybrid cloud environment; cloud certifications are preferred
- Solid understanding of Compute, HCI, and networking solutions
Having enterprise level experience on the following areas is an added advantage.
- Containerization technologies – Kubernetes/OpenShift
- Hypervisor platforms - Nutanix, VMware
- Server Operating Systems – Windows & Linux
- Cloud platforms – Azure, AWS & GCP
