LSI requires the service of a Network Engineer to support a proposal contract for one of our client in Washington, DC. Below are the details:

Responsibilities:

Advanced knowledge of the OSI network model, Ethernet, and TCP/IP networking.
An advanced level of experience implementing and administrating common TCP/IP-based services, including DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, SSH, SMTP, etc.
Troubleshooting and resolving network outages, problems, or degradations in service. This can include network issues related to failed hardware (e.g., switches, routers, cables, interfaces, transceivers, fiber uplinks, etc.) or problems related to software (e.g., route changes or failures, iOS patches or upgrades, iOS configuration conflicts, etc.).
Analyzing network hardware, configurations, and general operations to suggest improvements, enhancements, or corrective action to either improve or gain efficiencies.
Monitoring and analyzing network performance using GFE software such as SolarWinds, Splunk and other miscellaneous tools (e.g., iPerf, WireShark, Fiddler, etc.).
Assisting with the planning and deployment of new network technologies such as VoIP, TCP-IP v6 and new ENRD office locations which require local network presence.
Working with various Cisco network hardware used within ENRD (e.g., Nexus and Catalyst switches, Wi-Fi APs, etc.).
Modifying Cisco iOS settings to enable features or options to support advanced networking solutions.
Troubleshooting remote access issues for users at home, travel or trial sites when working with the DOJ VPN, VPN client (Cisco AnyConnect), and zero-trust tools (like Zscaler, etc.).
