RESPONSIBILITIES
The Network Engineer performs a variety of routine project tasks applied to network engineering as listed below for the US International Trade Commission. This position is required to be on-site supporting the customer in Washington, DC.
- Perform installation and integration of IT infrastructure components for Tier 2-3 support and coordinate vendor support when necessary
- Monitoring of all IT infrastructure components for performance metrics, configuration standards, and availability using management and monitoring systems
- Support rapid automated incident detection and resolution to assist in preventive maintenance
- Respond to tickets escalated from other teams and support tiers based on severity using ServiceNow
- Conduct effective troubleshooting and problem solving to minimize downtime through lessons learned and past experiences, isolate root cause, and perform corrective actions
- Create, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Provide operational support of the data networks to include but not limited to WAN, Cloud, LAN (wireless and wired), Firewalls, and other components
- Support and maintain the remote access system to support remote workforce capabilities
- Perform analysis and identify bottlenecks and other problem areas and report findings to the appropriate personnel for action
- Support and maintain secure reliable network connectivity to cloud services
- Support the design, deployment, and management of new systems and services and recommend new IT systems based on documented requirements
- Provide support for Cloud computing environments including but not limited to Platform as a Service (PaaS), Infrastructure as a service (IaaS), software as a Service (SaaS), and hybrid environments
- Experience with Cloud platforms utilizing Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) for SAML 2.0 single sign-on (SSO)
- Provide support to the Commission’s Security Operations Center for cybersecurity incidents and investigations
- Maintain current baseline configurations on all IT infrastructure components.
- Assist Government personnel to research security vulnerability resolution and remediation strategies for IT infrastructure components and IT infrastructure applications
- Participate in Change Management and Configuration Management practices, policies, processes, and procedures including developing change requests with supporting documentation and implementation of approved change requests
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Secret Clearance
- Active IAT II certification - Security+
- At least 1-4 years of recent IT Network engineering experience
- Installation and integration of IT infrastructure components for Tier 2-3 support and coordination of vendor support
- Supporting data networks including WAN, Cloud, LAN (wireless and wired), Firewalls, and other components
