Job Description
The IT Project Manager is responsible for guiding IT related projects and initiatives at Client to completion with scope, on schedule and on budget. The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the success of projects following the Client project methodology and will be reporting to the Manager, IT PMO.
The Project Manager Has Responsibility For The Following
PMO
- Working within the guidelines and framework set by Client's PMO
- Assisting in educating and evangelizing project management throughout Client
- Assisting in developing project life cycle templates as needed.
- Participates in lessons learned and provides process improvement suggestions to ensure constant improvement and maturation of best practices in project management.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; and participating in professional societies.
Portfolio Management
- Developing feasibility studies for the IT Steering Committees
- Developing business cases for the IT Steering Committees
- Assist steering committees with selection & prioritization of IT initiatives.
Project Management
- Providing project metrics, status, and reporting to Client management consistent with Client standards on assigned projects.
- Writing project charters for all assigned projects
- Managing a mix of internal and third-party staff
- Provide project level of effort and other estimates.
- Ensure project budgets, schedules, scope, deliverables, issues, risks, and tasks are managed.
- Establishing and maintaining project controls
- Manages the activities and people associated with the project as well as the success of that project.
- Defines project schedules to plan and coordinate project activity.
- Provides technical coordination and leadership for the team.
- Assists with development and oversight of development and testing for projects.
- Ensures projects are securely delivered and fulfill expectations.
- Works directly with Architects, System Analysts and QA/Testing team to manage the technical aspects of a development project.
- Make sure that project deliverables and documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.

Required Experience
- Bachelors in IT or a closely related field (i.e., Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) and a minimum of 10 years work experience in Information Technology
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience as an IT project manager
- Experience managing cross-functional teams with a minimum of five team members for the Utility Industry functional departments e.g., Customer Service, Finance, Operations., Permits etc.
- Experience with infrastructure, cybersecurity, and network projects.
- Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI)
- Proficient with MS Project, SharePoint, Visio, MS Office tools, JIRA.
- Experience with Project Portfolio management concepts.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Client facing experience (internal or external)
- Experience with successfully managing multiple internal and external projects parallelly.
