Job Summary: The Vice President of Programswilloversee Leadership Jacksonville’s array of leadership development programs – including Leadership Jacksonville, New Leadership Summit, Next Generation and Youth Leadership Jacksonville – as well as the alumni experience for program graduates. This role will drive the programs’ strategy and curriculum, designing and delivering a variety of custom programs to educate, connect and inspire diverse leaders to build and strengthen their communities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Serve as the principal leader of Leadership Jacksonville’s programs and manage all aspects of the program experience alongside program staff:
o Oversee the design and implementation of Leadership Jacksonville’s programs
o Supervise the program staff and provide oversight for consultants and vendors, as needed
o Establish standard learning outcomes, adapt curriculum to support those outcomes, and evaluate participant learning to ensure excellence
o Create and manage annual program budgets and ensure operational efficiency across programs
o Lead the LJ Leadership Development team and various other program leadership committees
o Foster psychological safety and a culture of innovation, in partnership with the CEO and team
o Build relationships with participants during their program experience, driving their connection to Leadership Jacksonville and the Northeast Florida region as a whole
o Assist CEO in annual planning for key initiatives including the Annual Alumni Luncheon, Celebration and Community/Alumni Engagement initiatives
• Analyze all aspects of Leadership Jacksonville’s leadership programs through effective evaluation; develop and communicate programs’ goals and metrics with measurable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
o Work with program staff to effectively evaluate programs and communicate their effectiveness through the collection of data
o Communicate evaluation results for Leadership Jacksonville’s programs and community events with stakeholders, funders and alumni in partnership with CEO
o Monitor success and leverage data to inform strategy, continuous improvement, and growth
o Solicit guidance and feedback on curriculum from subject matter experts, program stakeholders, national leaders and alumni, and adjust based on relevant community happenings and innovation for the future
o Bring thought leadership on leadership development opportunities, ranging from adult to youth learning best practices
• Coach program team members and promote collaboration and continuous improvement
o Serve as a thought partner to program staff, sharing best practices, encouraging partnership and consistency across programs
o Drive cross-program knowledge sharing and leverage team talents across program areas
o Serve as point person for continuous program partners whose work touches multiple programs each year
• Develop effective external program recruitment strategies and onboarding processes in collaboration with team members
o Establish and nurture partnerships with community organizations, educational institutions, and other stakeholders to enhance program reach and effectiveness
o Promote all programs using strategic channels including leveraging Leadership Jacksonville’s network, communication platforms, and events to ensure a growing pipeline of high quality, diverse applicants
o With team, lead the nomination and application process for candidates, interview process for participants and manage the selection of all cohorts focused on diversity of thought, background and skillsets
o Assist CEO in driving broader awareness of programs throughout the community
o Offer support to corporate partners as they market programs and recruit ideal candidates
o Lead and execute program information sessions
o Represent Leadership Jacksonville at signature events and community events
• With CEO, identify priorities and projects in concert with Leadership Jacksonville’s strategic plan and translate strategic priorities into actionable, measurable objectives
o Mobilize and lead individual team members to contribute to strategic projects, setting clear goals, deadlines, and deliverables
o Partner with the CEO to align capacity, budget, and strategy
o Work with CEO on program fundraising strategies
