Stroke is the second cause of death in the world. It is a leading cause of disability worldwide. And the stroke management market is growing with the increase in diabetes, tobacco users and the geriatric population. Also, with the growth of technological advancements in the diagnostic and treatment of stroke, the industry is growing.
Plaga (which means 'stroke' in Latin) is a digital health wearable stroke startup in its early early stages. We are developing wearable stroke detection devices. We are at the forefront of stroke technology, and we're looking for a highly skilled AI/ Biomedical engineer that can take on the role as CTO to build the wearable technology. We are currently in the process of building the technology and moving towards raising money.
Please keep in mind that we encourage engineers that believe he/she can take on a CTO role at a startup. You don't have to have CTO executive experience. The position is very hands on since you will be doing the actual work to develop/build the technology, while having high-level responsibilities. You will be working closely with C-level executives and leading stroke interventionalists.
Note: You will NOT be paid. Your compensation will be EQUITY.
Responsibilities:
- Developing/building the technology
- Ensuring technology standards and best practices are met
- Supervising quality assurance processes, integration, and system tests
- Establishing software development process and set objectives for the process
- Mentoring team members if you hire a team
- Reviewing timeframes and budgets
- Developing and implementing disaster and emergency recovery plans
- Defining company standards for systems, equipment, and software
- Sharing technological visions, opportunities, and risks company-wide
- Studying current and new industry trends, technologies, and software development
- Conferences and networking events
- Ensuring the company's technological processes and service comply with all requirements, laws, and regulations
- Managing a team
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering
- Using Zoom or Google Meet
