We are seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team supporting Defense Enclave Services (DES) in Ft. Meade, MD.
The DES program supports a highly demanding mission and requires support from top technical and management talent to migrate common IT services for over twenty DoD agencies under a common platform. You will play a key role in performing the discovery, design, and migration tasks in support of building a world-class Single Service Provider for the Department of Defense. This role will lead storage engineering to support the discovery analysis and design activities required to migrate common IT services from over twenty large-scale DoD agencies into DoDNet. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform initial discovery efforts, defining data collection requirements based on inputs needed to develop a successful migration plan
- Utilize advanced data analysis techniques and benchmarks to define the future state migration plan, and the pre-migration activities necessary to close gaps
- Forecast backend infrastructure needs resulting from the migration of over 20 agencies into a single architecture
- Design solutions, integrate, configure, test and deploy numerous types storage and data protection technologies from EMC, NetApp, Nutanix, and others.
- Optimize end-to-end system performance and migration workflows.
- Conduct data captures to obtain computing performance and system configuration information.
- Define migration plans that accelerate execution and minimize impact to the user community.
- Establish migration plans for complex n-tier applications and services.
- Gather needed data to forecast long-term capacity and performance requirements.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience:
- 12+ years of experience
- Proficiency with enterprise-class storage and data protection technologies such as: storage and backup arrays, SAN switches, backup software, and storage replication technology.
- Consulting firm experience (Preferred)
- Strong knowledge of networking, servers, cyber, and data center facilities (Preferred)
- Cloud Migration (Preferred)
- Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) (Preferred)
- Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) (Preferred)
- Microsoft Intune - Endpoint Management & Software Distribution (Preferred)
- Microsoft 356 Administration (Preferred)
- Microsoft Power BI (Preferred)
- Active Directory Administration (Preferred)
- Enterprise level migration experience (Preferred)
- Operating system rollout (Preferred)
- Developing engineering and implementation plans (Preferred)
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of experience; additional years of directly applicable experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
- Certifications:
- DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level II (One of the following):
- CAP
- CASP+ CE
- CISM
- CISSP (or Associate)
- CCISO
- GSLC
- HCISPP

WAGE INFORMATION
Target salary range: $85,000-$103,000. The salary range displayed is an estimate and will be determined on several factors regarding the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract parameters and organizational requirements. The displayed salary is one component of the total compensation package for employees.
