We’re looking for a CTO to lead our engineering efforts, shape our product infrastructure, and help scale our technology as we grow. If you’re passionate about building strong technical teams, love solving real-world problems, and thrive in a startup environment, we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Do
• Own the overall technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap of Lighthouse’s platform.
• Lead and mentor a small but growing engineering team, setting high standards in coding, DevOps, and product delivery.
• Oversee development and deployment using React, Next.js, and GraphQL/Apollo.
• Drive sprint planning and execution using Jira, working closely with product and design teams.
• Implement and manage scalable infrastructure in AWS, following modern DevOps best practices.
• Lead API development and third-party integrations.
• Establish and track team goals and performance using OKRs.
• Partner with leadership to ensure alignment between business strategy and technical execution.
What We’re Looking For
• Proven experience as a technical leader, ideally in a startup or fast-paced environment.
• Hands-on expertise with:
• AWS and DevOps practices (CI/CD, monitoring, scalability)
• React, React Frameworks (like Next.js), GraphQL, and Apollo
• Designing and integrating with complex APIs
• Agile development, Jira, and sprint planning
• Setting and managing OKRs for technical teams
• Strong communication and leadership skills—you know how to bring people along and drive momentum.
• Chicago-based and available to work onsite full-time at our Fulton Market office.
