Description
We are offering a permanent employment opportunity for a Systems Administrator in LINCOLNWOOD, Illinois. The successful candidate will be tasked with maintaining both Windows server and network infrastructures, developing and implementing security policies, and providing technical support to various teams.
Responsibilities
- Installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows server operating systems and related software.
- Active Directory management, including the handling of user accounts, permissions, and group policies.
- Monitoring of server performance, identification of bottlenecks, and optimization of system resources.
- Performance of routine server maintenance tasks such as backups, updates, and patches.
- Troubleshooting of server-related issues and coordination with other IT teams or vendors for resolution.
- Design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and VPN connections.
- Monitoring of network performance, identification of connectivity issues, and implementation of necessary changes.
- Configuration and management of network devices, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Collaboration with network engineers to ensure smooth and secure network operations.
- Development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and standards to protect server and network resources.
- Monitoring and analysis of server logs, network traffic, and system vulnerabilities for potential security breaches.
- Conducting regular security audits, risk assessments, and penetration testing.
- Response to security incidents promptly, investigating root causes, and implementing remedial actions.
- Creation and maintenance of accurate documentation of server configurations, network diagrams, and security procedures.
- Generation of reports on server performance, network uptime, security incidents, and compliance status.
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams to support IT infrastructure projects and initiatives.
- Providing technical support to end-users, diagnosing, and resolving hardware and software issues.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Cisco Technologies is required for the Systems Administrator role.
- Ability to handle Cloud Technologies effectively and efficiently.
- Knowledge of Dell Technologies is a must.
- Experience with Firewall Technologies is important.
- Demonstrable skills in Active Directory are needed.
- Capable of dealing with Computer Hardware issues.
- PowerShell Scripting skills are necessary.
- Proficiency in Windows PowerShell is expected.
- Understanding of TCP/IP protocols is required.
- Skills in DNS management are necessary.
- Knowledge of DHCP is essential.
- Experience with VLAN management is needed.
- Proficiency in Cisco VPN is expected.
- Ability to handle Remote Access VPNs effectively.
- Familiarity with ISO 27000 standard for information security management is a must.
- Cisco CCNA certification is required.
