The Business Analyst is responsible for interfacing between the product and technical teams. This position gathers requirements from various stakeholders, including internal colleagues and external customers, breaks the requirements down, aligns them with existing technical designs, and then creates detailed specifications for technical team members to complete.
Business Analysis - 50%:
- Take business requirements from stakeholders and create detailed diagrams and documentation regarding business needs
- Break down business requirements into smaller work components
- Fully document the business needs from both a technical standpoint and a business standpoint
- Create gap analysis to determine what features require work and what features already exist for a new requirement
Project Management - 50%
- Create technical tickets with detailed requirements for software engineers
- Ensure that technical details are documented for each project and linked to business requirements
- Write technical acceptance criteria for work tickets with technical architects to create engineering designs for new features
- Assist with project management tasks such as scheduling and planning
- Provide training and support for product team
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and test solutions
- Communicates with external vendors and service providers as needed
QUALIFICATIONS – EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
- 1-5 years of experience required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Experience documenting requirements in Jira, Confluence or similar tools
- Experience with database software languages like SQL
- Experience with B2B Software Solutions, such as a Vendor Management System, or similar
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies
- Communication skills - both oral and written
