We are working with a Private Equity fund looking to hire an Associate to join the Capital Markets team. This individual will be an integral member of a lean team focused on debt financing,risk management and portfolio management. He or she will work very closely with the Head of Capital Markets and the firm’s deal teams to evaluate and structure financing alternatives.
- Evaluate and execute acquisition financings and portfolio company re-financings
- Participate in initial lender outreach
- Manage lender diligence process, including: assisting in preparation of lender materials, distributing materials, tracking lender activity, and appraisal and 3rd party lender requirements
- Compare and negotiate term sheets, credit documentation, and loan documents
- Assist deal teams with portfolio company financing and risk management needs
- Monitor portfolio company credit statistics (maturity, leverage, covenants, liquidity)
- Maintain database of acquisition and leverage statistics
- Assist reporting teams with the annual valuation & appraisal process for all funds/portfolios
- Relationship management
- Maintain relationships with investment banks, lenders, appraisers
- Manage internal database tracking lender interactions, deals, and fees
- Keep pulse on trends in the leveraged finance markets and broader macroeconomic environment
Key Qualifications:
x Minimum of 2‐3 years within corporate or investment banking, leverage finance, debt financing or an investment role
x Strong analytical skills and strategic mindset
x Extensive financial modeling experience
x Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
x Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
x Interest in technology (prior experience not required)
x Flexibility to wear multiple hats and quickly transition between projects and deal teams
