We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Consulting Network Administrator to join our vibrant team. You will be a key part of an exciting, fast-paced environment where you will be responsible for designing, organizing, modifying, and supporting our company's computer systems. This role involves network analysis, system upgrades, system documentation, daily administration, and problem resolution. If you are a dedicated professional with a proven track record in network administration and are passionate about technology and helping businesses run smoothly, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy networks; perform network address assignment; assign routing protocols and routing table configuration.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the basics behind the Internet and its workings (DNS, Security, IP Routing, HTTP, VPN, Email Routing, SPAM, etc.)
- Configure and setup Firewalls, VPN Concentrators, and Security appliances for access to vital business applications.
- Design, setup, and configure complex switching environments.
- Assist in system installations, upgrades, and deployment while ensuring optimal system performance.
- Provide technical support to clients, diagnosing, and solving hardware/software faults.
- Analyze and resolve faults, ranging from a major system crash to a forgotten password.
- Undertake routine preventative measures and implement, maintain, and monitor network security.
- Provide training and technical support for users with varying levels of IT knowledge and competence.
- Ensure the smooth running of all ICT systems, particularly Microsoft O365 and other related systems.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in network administration, including hands-on experience in networking, routing, and switching.
- Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure.
- Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired.
- Ability to set up and configure server hardware.
- Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies.
- Great at organizing, prioritizing, and multitasking.
- Juniper, Cisco, CWNA, or BCNE training.
- Proficient with Microsoft O365, Active Directory, and DNS.
- Experience with network printers and software support.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) are a plus.
