What you’ll bring
- 10+ years of experience working in IT infrastructure and Programming with 8+ years of experience architecting, securing, operating, or developing cloud solutions (GCP, AWS or Azure) in large scale, and ideally, multi-cloud environments.
- 5+ years of development and automation experience in a programming language such as Python or Go
- Experience with highly available and fault-tolerant enterprise and web-scale software deployments desired
- Previous DevOps or SRE in the past, or have created architectures or solutions that have manipulated cloud infrastructure programmatically
- Experience in successfully implementing multiple enterprise solutions in the cloud using a vast range of cloud technologies and appropriate cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, AliCloud).
- Ability to guide and influence technical and commercial Director/VP stakeholder relationships.
- Adept at strategic planning with understanding how to identify business needs, problems, and risks.
- Strong practical Linux and Windows-based systems administration skills in a Cloud (AWS, Azure, Google) or Virtualized environment.
- Experience leading cloud operations, including disaster recovery, data assurance, monitoring, alerting and notifications.
- Deep understanding of Cloud computing technologies and workload transition challenges
- Knowledge of GCP/AWS Well Architected Framework and Cloud migration industry standards and practices

$90,000-$140,000.This salary range is specific to Colorado, New York, California, and Washington, and may differ in other locations. We take into consideration an individual’s skills, background, and experience in determining final salary. Other compensation may include a 10% Annual Incentive Plan (AIP) bonus paid out according to policy. Base pay information is based on market location.
Work Environment, Physical & Mental Demands
- Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
- Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach daily
- Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Must utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment
- Hours regularly 40 hours per week, as work dictates, from a hybrid location near the Houston Corporate office or remotely.

This Individual will be required to apply their expert knowledge to ensure best practices and well-engineered architecture across both the public cloud platforms GCP and AWS. It will require an extensive and deep understanding of cutting-edge practices and innovative approaches to problems. The individual will create efficiencies and automation guidance within day-to-day operations and support the teams towards success. The ideal candidate will have a positive, customer focused personality and a willingness to bring new technologies to the environment. Additionally, the Cloud Platform Architect will be responsible for ensuring that critical applications are designed and optimized for high availability and disaster recovery.
What you’ll do
- Design and implement architectural solutions using GCP / AWS design principles and architectural best practices and industry standards
- Lead and deliver large architectural initiatives that solve key customer needs
- Work diligently towards Infrastructure as a Code and automating everything inside Cloud platform.
- Research new and emerging cloud technologies and how to secure them
- Develop and maintain plans to ensure successful recovery of operating systems in the event of a disaster
- Define/deploy mechanisms to monitor system integrity, protection levels, and security related events
- Be a trusted SME, and consult with product and internal partners to create new product features
- Define the business case for new solutions, design the solution to prototype, and take the solution through to launch and market
- Partner with anyone at any level, including internal security and operations teams, product leaders and managers, go-to-market teams, customers and partners
- Guide and coach less experienced peers to become more productive and effective team members
- Work in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and collaborative environment.
