As a Reputation Risk Senior Associate, you will be aligned to the Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) Reputation Risk Office supporting Business Banking Reputation Risk Office (RRO) who advise on issues that have a potential for material reputation risk. You will gain experience in Reputation Risk which is a unique risk that is maturing across the industry.
Reputation Risk is the risk that an action or inaction may negatively impact perception of the firm’s integrity and reduce confidence in the firm’s competence by various constituents, including clients, counterparties, customers, investors, regulators, employees, communities, or the broader public. Our team reports to the Chief Risk Officer of Business Banking and provides oversight of line of business processes that support the consistent identification, escalation, management, and monitoring of reputation risk issues across CCB.
Job Responsibilities
- Review reputation risk escalations within Business Banking sectors that have potential material reputation risk, provide guidance on the review process, and record reputation risk escalations in the technology application
- Develop an understanding of Firmwide and Line of Business (LOB) reputation risk themes and issues
- Maintain awareness of current political, social, and economic state of global affairs is essential to the role
- Understand reputation risk strategic projects, including risk reporting and risk governance
- Prepare periodic CCB and Business Banking reputation risk reporting
- Identify and proactively assess opportunities for process improvements
- Research negative media, including social media trends, as necessary
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- 3 years of experience in Business/Commercial Banking, Risk or Legal within financial services
- Highly motivated, energetic self-starter who takes ownership and manages deliverables with a strong attention to detail and completes deliverables in a timely manner
- Ability to interface and effectively partner with the business and stakeholders across the organization
- Experience and knowledge of the firm’s distinct business lines, processes, and products
- Ability to quickly understand and assess complex situations or products, make decisions, and escalate, when necessary
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to demonstrate a sound understanding clearly and succinctly of the most relevant issues, risks and concerns (including in written communications) and provide an independent assessment
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Bachelors degree
- Experience with reporting languages such as SQL and tools including Tableau, Alteryx, and Cognos
