Chief Technology & Innovation Officer, of USALCOs business, which is headquartered in Baltimore, MD. This position will report to the CEO and will be a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of a company's research and development activities, including strategizing innovation initiatives, managing research teams, developing new products and technologies, and ensuring alignment with the company's overall business objectives, all while evaluating the potential impact of new technologies and ensuring they meet quality and regulatory standards; requiring a strong technical background, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills to collaborate with various departments within the organization. This is a HYBRID position.
Strategic Planning
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
- Develop and execute comprehensive R&D roadmaps aligned with the company's vision and market needs.
- Identify emerging technologies and assess their potential impact on the company's product portfolio.
- Prioritize research projects and allocate resources effectively.
- Build business cases for new technology investments and secure necessary funding.
Research And Development Leadership
- Lead cross-functional R&D teams, including scientists, engineers, and product developers.
- Oversee the design, execution, and analysis of research projects
- Foster a culture of innovation and creativity within the R&D department
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions
Product Development
- Guide the development of new products and technologies from concept to commercialization
- Ensure new products meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and market demands
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to translate market insights into product features
Technology Evaluation And Adoption
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies
- Evaluate the feasibility and potential of new technologies for product development
- Partner with external research institutions and collaborators to access cutting-edge technologies
Collaboration And Communication
- Communicate R&D strategies and progress to senior management and key stakeholders
- Build strong relationships with other departments within the organization to ensure alignment on business goals
- Foster a collaborative environment within the R&D team
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in chemistry or engineering field (Ph.D. level preferred)
- Extensive experience in R&D leadership roles within the water treatment industry, wastewater and environmental.
- Deep technical knowledge across various scientific disciplines relevant to the company's products
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate business goals into R&D priorities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex technical concepts
- Proven track record of successfully developing and commercializing innovative products
- Ability to travel
