Job Description
An IT Administrator, otherwise known as a System Administrator, is responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of client computer systems, servers, and data security systems, servers, and data security systems. An IT Administrator should have strong inter-organizational problem-resolving expertise. As an administrator, one should be acquainted with all features of project management, such as costing and scheduling, along with strong time-management skills. The skills to work independently as required, assist teams, and implement analytical skills to find success in this field.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in IT administration, preferably within the e-commerce industry.
- Proficient in Windows, server administration, and cloud platforms.
- Experience with cybersecurity measures and data protection regulations.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A proactive mindset, with the ability to anticipate potential IT challenges and address them promptly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications or working knowledge in the following areas:
- CompTIA A+, Security+, and Network+ (or an equivalent certification such as CCNA instead of Network+)
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
- Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer (or an equivalent certification for Azure or AWS)
- A desire for clear, consistent and standardized processes and documentation
- Strong organizational skills to be able to manage multiple projects at the same time
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude
What You’ll Do
- Oversee and maintain all aspects of the company's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, hardware, and software.
- Implement and manage security solutions to protect sensitive data and property
- Provide IT support to staff, addressing any hardware or software issues and ensuring minimal downtime.
- Monitor systems to ensure they meet both user needs and business goals.
- Regularly backup company data and ensure the ability to recover information in case of a failure. Maintain system down plans for all processes.
- Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers for equipment purchases, service subscriptions, and troubleshooting.
- Stay current with technological trends and advancements to make recommendations for improvements.
- Develop and implement IT policies and best practices for the company.
- Train staff on new technologies, software, and security protocols.
