Adheres to company policies and procedures and complies with all state and federal banking regulatory requirements, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, OFAC, Customers Right to Privacy Act, Regulation D, Regulation DD/Truth in Savings, USA Patriot Act, CIP, Elder Care, Sexual Harassment, Information Security, and Privacy requirements as they pertain to this position. This position is responsible for escalating suspicious activity to the BSA.
POSITION OVERVIEW SUMMARY
TASA365’s Client, a Community Bank Organization in multiple states; California, Hawaii, Texas, and aiming to open East Coast branches, and its headquarter location in Los Angeles, California is hiring a Chief Risk Officer responsible for the efficient and effective governance of risks, as identified and articulated by the board-approved risk appetite, risk tolerance objectives, and risk-related policies. The Chief Risk Officer is also responsible for the development and monitoring of the company's Enterprise Risk Management Program. This includes program development, oversight, and verification of adherence to the program to ensure timely identification and resolution of risks across the organization.
The Chief Risk Officer (CRO) is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and mitigating risks that could impact the company’s financial and operational performance. The CRO will develop and implement risk management strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the company’s stability and compliance with regulatory requirements.
The Chief Risk Officer is also responsible for overseeing the Compliance Department, BSA Department, Information Security, and Vendor Management.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Present high-level reports to the management team and the board of directors.
- Identify, assess, measure, manage, monitor, and report on risks affecting the company.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies, policies, and procedures to maintain stability and regulatory compliance.
- Offer guidance and counsel to senior management and stakeholders on risk-related matters.
- Enhance reputation, decision-making, and business objectives through effective risk management.
- Lead business analysis, risk modeling, and loss prevention initiatives.
- Review and evaluate company policies to ensure robust internal controls and effective risk management.
- Facilitate management’s development of an appropriate risk appetite profile and risk appetite statement, and monitor alignment of the strategic plan to limits established in the risk appetite statement.
- Interface with regulators as the primary contact person for all regulatory examinations; responsible for responding to and following up on any examination findings; report to senior management and the board of directors on the progress of remediation activities.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the CEO.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. Advanced degree desired.
- Minimum of ten years of banking or risk management-related experience and/or training.
- Advanced knowledge of banking operations and lending products and services; related state and federal laws and regulations, and other operational policies and procedures.
- Experience, knowledge, and training in progressively responsible information technology department operations, management, and supervisory activities.

- Thorough understanding of management procedures; ability to plan department or company activities (setting objectives, developing strategies, budgeting, and developing policies and procedures); initiative to organize various functions necessary to accomplish department or company activities; effectively staff (selecting, training, and developing employees); directing employees towards the desired objectives (delegating, motivating, resolving problems); controlling the function (developing performance standards, measuring results, taking corrective action, and rewarding employees as appropriate).
- Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
- Current driver’s license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range and benefits for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington residents vary from $250,000 to $300,000 per year based on the level of experience. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, the organization offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, and benefits are subject to eligibility requirements.
