About the Position
The Vice President, Network Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer (CCPO), is a critical leadership role within our client. This position oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of a robust compliance and privacy program across all Network partners. The CCPO ensures adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including but not limited to HIPAA, Stark, Anti-Kickback, False Claims Act, and the Anti-Trust laws.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and oversee the Network's Compliance and Privacy Program, including policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential compliance and privacy risks.
- Investigate and resolve compliance and privacy issues, including complaints, allegations of misconduct, and regulatory inquiries.
- Provide guidance and support to Network partners on compliance and privacy matters.
- Collaborate with the Network General Counsel and other senior leaders on legal and regulatory issues.
- Serve as the primary contact with state and federal agencies on compliance and privacy matters.
- Supervise a team of 12 compliance and privacy professionals, including Network Partner Compliance and Privacy Officers, the Compliance and Privacy Manager, and Compliance Supervisor.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Compliance and Privacy team.
- Stay abreast of all relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Promote a culture of compliance and ethical behavior throughout the Network.
Reporting Relationships:
- The CCPO reports directly to the Network Board of Trustees Audit Committee on matters affecting the independence and integrity of the CCPO's functions.
- The CCPO reports to the Network General Counsel in day-to-day job functions while maintaining independence of judgment and direct access to the Audit Committee.
- The CCPO directly supervises a team of 12 compliance and privacy professionals.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) is strongly preferred, or a Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
- Five to seven years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare compliance and privacy, including demonstrated management experience in a hospital or healthcare system.
- Proven experience managing and resolving billing and healthcare regulatory compliance issues.
- Strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement systems, fraud and abuse laws, and patient privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA).
- Familiarity with organizational ethics and corporate responsibility matters.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and supervisory skills.
