Our client, a leading healthcare provider, seeks a Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer to oversee compliance and privacy programs across its Vermont and northern New York healthcare network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, administration, education, and enhancement of compliance and privacy programs.
- Report directly to the Board of Trustees Audit Committee, Senior Management, and the CEO on compliance matters, ensuring independence and transparency.
- Collaborate with the General Counsel while maintaining direct access to leadership to safeguard impartial oversight.
- Manage a team of 12, including Compliance and Privacy Officers, Managers, and Specialists.
- Partner with Information Security, Legal, and Senior Leadership to assess compliance needs, investigate issues, and liaise with state and federal agencies.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor strongly preferred, or a Master's degree in business administration, healthcare management, or related field.
- A minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in healthcare compliance and privacy, including management experience in a hospital or healthcare system.
- Proven ability to lead in complex organizational settings and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with healthcare reimbursement systems, fraud and abuse laws, and patient privacy laws.
- Experience managing and resolving billing and regulatory compliance issues, along with expertise in organizational ethics and corporate responsibility.
