Responsibilities And Duties
OCT currently has an opening for a
Solutions Architect to work with our federal client, the General Services Administration(GSA).
This position is contingent upon contract award.
The Solutions Architect role focuses on translating business requirements into technical solutions while ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards and modern development practices. The role requires both deep technical expertise and strong collaboration skills to work effectively with organizational stakeholders. The Solutions Architect works closely with the Lead Architect to ensure individual solutions align with the broader architectural vision while meeting specific business needs.
Day to day responsibilities will include:
- Participate in designing and architecting large-scale applications, with focus on SaaS and cloud-based solutions
- Develop solutions leveraging Java/Web Applications and contemporary development platforms/frameworks
- Transform disparate business problems into cohesive technology solutions for large-scale applications
- Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards and patterns
- Provide expertise across multiple technical domains including:
- Cloud enabled/cloud native solutions
- SecDevOps practices and implementation
- Advanced Analytics
- Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence/Robotic Process Automation
- Integration/API/Microservices architectures
- User Experience design
- Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, Lean)
- Work with business stakeholders to understand requirements and propose appropriate technical solutions
- Design scalable architecture for cloud deployments
- Guide implementation of service-oriented architectures, web services, and APIs
- Ensure solutions meet high availability requirements (99.99%+ uptime)
- Support establishment of DevSecOps practices and continuous
integration/deployment pipelines
- Provide technical leadership and direction to development teams
- Work collaboratively with other architects and technical leads
- Influence technical decisions through strong communication and negotiation skills
- Bridge communication between business and technical teams
- Evaluate new technologies and approaches for potential adoption
- Recommend technical solutions that balance innovation with practical implementation
- Support proof of concepts and pilot projects
- Help define technical standards and best practices
- Design solutions that integrate effectively with existing systems
- Ensure interoperability between different components and services
- Define integration patterns and approaches
- Guide implementation of APIs and service interfaces
Requirements
Requirements:
- 3+ years' experience in Enterprise Architecture
- Designing and architecting large-scale applications, including SaaS and cloud-based applications - 3+ years' experience
- Java/Web Applications and contemporary development platforms/frameworks - 5+ years' experience
- Experience taking disparate business problems and delivering the best technology solutions for large-scale applications - 3+ years' experience
- Experience working in one or multiple IT areas, but with the versatility to grow in other areas:
- Cloud-enabled/cloud native solutions

- Must be able to perform in a hybrid office environment at the discretion of the client (working on-site as requested while maintaining the equipment necessary/provided for remote work)
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must be able to obtain or retain a Public Trust clearance; the security screening process may involve a credit, fingerprint, and law enforcement agency check

Salary Range: $80,000-115,000 a year commensurate with experience, education, etc.
